The $62M Controversy: How Two Groups Transformed Minnesota

Two church non-profits have taken in at least $62 million to build the Somali community in Minnesota — leading to the rise of Ilhan Omar and the fraud scandals that have gripped that state, The Post can reveal.Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services were at the forefront of reshaping the frigid Land of 10,000 Lakes thanks to generous government contracts stemming back generations.“This is a very big pile of government money and a whole bunch of different groups have come to get their own slice of it,” Parker Thayer, an immigration expert at the Washington, DC-based Capital Research Center, told The Post.Sawo Kwao sings and waves the Somali flag awaiting the arrival of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Minneapolis on Dec. 15, 2022. I imagine a lot of donors are being pushed away by something that is very reasonably viewed as highly controversial by a lot of people,” Thayer said. Before Minnesota became Somali central, it was known as the Hmong hub.The state first became a test ground for a Vietnam-era resettlement program — with powerful advocacy from then-Vice President Walter Mondale and Minnesota’s Democrat governor Al Quie, according to local historians.“Squad” Rep. Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota did not respond to a request for comment.

Heartfelt Tribute: '9-1-1: Nashville' Honors Chad Lowe's Daughter Fiona New

Heartfelt Tribute: '9-1-1: Nashville' Honors Chad Lowe's Daughter Fiona

The 9-1-1: Nashville season 2 premiere featured a solemn tribute to Chad Lowe’s daughter Fiona, who died by suicide last month. “In Loving Memory,” read a title card shown at the end of the Thursday, October 15, episode, alongside Fiona’s name and photo. Chad, 58, has directed multiple episodes of both 9-1-1: Nashville and 9-1-1: Lone Star, which starred his brother Rob Lowe. He also portrayed Rob’s onscreen brother in a brief arc. (9-1-1: Lone Star aired for five seasons until its cancellation in 2025.) News broke in September that Chad’s daughter had died. She was 13. “We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” Chad and wife Kim Painter wrote in a joint statement, calling Fiona “a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance.” They continued at the time, “She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.” Chad and Painter, 52, are also parents of daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. Mabel has since been candid about grieving the loss of her sibling. “I love you so much, Fiona ❤️. I wish your short time here was easier and I hope your mind is at ease now,” she wrote via Instagram on October 3. “I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, I hope you knew just how much.” Neither Chad nor Painter have further addressed Fiona’s death, with the Pretty Little Liars alum returning to social media on October 8 to repost a candid message about grief and healing. “We both possess the human and the divine,” Gerry Hussey said during a 2025 appearance on the “Of Healing” podcast, which Lowe shared via his Instagram Stories earlier this month. “Through consciousness and awareness when we awaken the peaceful observer and we get beyond our physical human emotions and our physical human needs and the needs of the ego, and we just let go and we release all that and we connect to a feeling, that is the divine frequency.” Two days after his social media return, Chad and Painter attended nephew Matthew Lowe’s wedding to now-wife Emily Markus. If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. Call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org. 9-1-1: Nashville airs on ABC Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.

Carrie Ann Inaba's Response to Val Chmerkovskiy's Slap Remark Shakes Up DWTS New

Carrie Ann Inaba's Response to Val Chmerkovskiy's Slap Remark Shakes Up DWTS

Carrie Ann Inaba fired back after Val Chmerkovskiy jokingly threatened to slap her Will Smith-style following drama on Dancing With the Stars. Chmerkovskiy, 40, came under fire this week for fiercely defending his wife, Jenna Johnson, online after Inaba, 58, criticized her choreography on Tuesday, October 13’s Super Bowl Night. “You almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night,” Chmerkovskiy wrote in a since-deleted TikTok, seemingly referring to Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum Smith, 58, infamously slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Inaba responded to the purported threat, asking, “So this is what we are doing now?” She posed the question via Instagram on Thursday, October 15, sharing a screenshot of Page Six’s post featuring Chmerkovskiy and Smith side-by-side with the professional dancer’s quote over it. Inaba added, “Thank you @pagesix and @entertainmentweekly for bringing this to my attention.” The controversy began after Johnson, 32, and her celebrity partner, Harry Shum Jr., performed a samba during Tuesday’s show and Inaba docked them points for an illegal lift. The judge noticed that Shum, 44, had been helped by two troupe dancers to do a backflip mid-routine, which goes against the rules of a traditional samba, which states dancers cannot take both feet off the ground. “I think you need to put more content in your dances. Especially because [Harry’s] so good, I want to see you challenge yourself a little bit more in the vein of what we’re looking for,” Inaba told Johnson, who has been married to Chmerkovskiy since 2019. “And there was a lift.” Johnson was confused by the remark, asking, “A lift?” noting she wasn’t the one who flipped her partner. Inaba then read the definition off a piece of paper, saying, “A lift is — I just need to say it — any movement during which one of the dancers has both feet off the floor at the same time with the assistance or support of their partner. Yeah, lift.” After the awkward judging, Johnson and Shum Jr. received a score of 33 out of 40. They got eights from all three regular judges, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Inaba, and received a nine from guest judge Joe Buck. “I hear Carrie Ann. She’s a judge for a reason,” Johnson told Extra after Tuesday’s episode, claiming it was water under the bridge. “She’s gonna do her job, I’m gonna do mine. I’m gonna take the feedback.” While the pair remained in the competition, Inaba’s criticism — she is known for being tougher than the other judges — caused a stir off camera. In addition to Val coming to his wife’s aide, his brother, former DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, spoke out about the incident. “She goes and starts reading off the rulebook, but then that same rulebook that’s applicable in ballroom with lifts is only applicable to a couple dancing,” Maks, 46, explained on Thursday's episode of the “Viall Files” podcast. “You’re not talking about extra background dancers running out.” He added, “There’s no ‘three other people’ in the rulebook. The point is: Carrie Ann, get some consistency.” Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

The Brain-Teasing Puzzle About an Apple Everyone's Trying to Solve New

The Brain-Teasing Puzzle About an Apple Everyone's Trying to Solve

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another fun brain teaser.Today, we have a delightful little math puzzle that looks very simple at first glance.Do not let its friendly appearance fool you, though.Sometimes, the simplest-looking puzzles are the most satisfying ones to solve.Let us take a look at the picture on the screen right now.As you can see, we have 2 balance scales with some delicious fresh fruit placed on top of them.On the left side, we have a scale carrying 1 red apple and 1 yellow banana.Together, the apple and the banana weigh 51 units. Now, let us shift our attention to the right side of the image. On this second scale, we have 2 red apples and 1 yellow banana. When these 3 fruits are weighed together, the display shows 87 units. Our main mission today is very straightforward. We need to figure out the exact weight of just 1 single apple. Can you calculate the correct number in your head before we go through the solution together?Take a deep breath, grab a pencil if you need 1, and give yourself a few moments to think.Have you figured out the answer yet?If you need a little more time, feel free to pause and think for a bit. When you are ready, let us walk through the step-by-step logic together to find the solution.Solving a puzzle like this is all about comparing what changes from 1 picture to the next.Let us look closely at the 1st scale again. The 1st scale shows 1 apple plus 1 banana equal to 51.Now, let us look at the 2nd scale right next to it.The 2nd scale shows 2 apples plus 1 banana equal to 87.Do you notice what changed between the left picture and the right picture? In both pictures, we always have exactly 1 yellow banana. However, on the 2nd scale, there is 1 extra red apple. That extra apple is the only difference between the items on the 2 scales.Because of that extra apple, the total weight on the display went up.It increased from 51 units all the way to 87 units. This means that the increase in weight belongs entirely to that single extra apple.Isn’t that a neat and simple way to look at it?So, how do we find the weight of that extra apple? All we need to do is subtract the total weight of the 1st scale from the total weight of the 2nd scale.Let us do the simple subtraction together.87 minus 51 equals 36.That is all there is to it.The weight of 1 apple is exactly 36 units.Let us double-check our work just to be completely certain of our answer. If 1 apple weighs 36 units, we can easily find the weight of the banana.Using the 1st scale, 51 minus 36 equals 15.So, 1 banana must weigh 15 units. Now, let us test these values on the 2nd scale to see if everything adds up.2 apples weigh 36 plus 36, which equals 72.Add the banana’s weight of 15 to 72, and we get 87.The numbers match perfectly on both scales. Our solution is mathematically sound and 100% correct. The final answer is 36.Thank you so much for solving today’s puzzle with me.You did a fantastic job exercising your brain today.Keep practicing, stay curious, and keep enjoying these fun everyday riddles.

Kim Kardashian's Unexpected Pregnancy with Kanye West: A Shocking Revelation New

Kim Kardashian's Unexpected Pregnancy with Kanye West: A Shocking Revelation

Kim Kardashian was not expecting to conceive her first baby with Kanye West in the early days of their relationship. “And then seven months into dating Kanye, I got pregnant,” Kardashian, 45, explained in an excerpt from Jonathan Van Meter’s upcoming biography, Citizen Kim, shared with New York Magazine’s The Cut on Tuesday, October 13. “We hadn’t even had a first real fight until I was pregnant.” Kim said she had stopped taking birth control after going to a fertility clinic with sister Khloé Kardashian, who was trying to have a baby with her now-ex-husband, Lamar Odom. “And I was like, ‘Don’t worry, I’ll get all my blood tests with you so it won’t be scary.’ And we did it together. And then the results came back: ‘Khloé, you’re fine. But Kim? You have some problems,’” Kim recalled. At the time, fertility experts told Kim that she didn’t have many eggs left and recommended she stop taking the pill since getting pregnant may be difficult for her. “I never had a pregnancy scare or anything in my life,” Kim said, “so I just went to Miami without birth control and got pregnant that first month. I was like, ‘F***.’ I literally thought my life was over.” Kim, who was hysterical at the time, then called West to tell him the news. “I was crying so hard I couldn’t get it out,” she said. “He thought a family member of mine had died. I was [weeping]. … He was like, ‘What’s happening?’ And I was just like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m pregnant.’ It came so out of left field for me; I was shocked. I don’t know why I was so shocked. Come on. But when the doctors tell you, ‘I don’t think you’ll ever get pregnant, you have the uterus of a 50-year-old, you’re going to have to do all this IVF.’” As Kim grappled with the decision of whether to keep the pregnancy, she decided it was solely her choice to make and told West, “I need a week. I don’t want to talk to anyone. I don’t want to talk to you. I need some time to think.” By the end of the week, she knew her decision. “OK, let’s move forward and let’s have a baby,” she said. Kim welcomed the couple’s eldest daughter, North, in 2013 after a difficult pregnancy. “I had a rough time from the start and a few scares,” she said. “I thought I miscarried. I was bleeding a lot. At about six months, I thought I was going into labor, and then I ended up giving birth about five and a half weeks early.” Kim had preeclampsia and placenta accreta. “I think when you’re in it, you just kind of roll with it,” she said. “And, you know, it was obviously the best thing I ever did.” The pair went on to welcome son Saint in 2015. Daughter Chicago and son Psalm were born via surrogate in 2018 and 2019, respectively. In 2021, Kim filed for divorce from West. Their separation was finalized one year later.

Why This Simple Math Puzzle Has Everyone Talking New

Why This Simple Math Puzzle Has Everyone Talking

Have you ever come across a simple math problem on social media that makes everyone argue in the comments section? It looks extremely easy at first glance.Yet, thousands of people still get the wrong answer.Today, let us look at a classic brain teaser that tests your basic math skills.Take a close look at the equation written on the paper: 10 x 4 + 7 x 0 + 3 = ?At first look, your eyes might instantly focus on that big zero in the middle. It is very tempting to think that multiplying by zero turns the whole problem into zero. Many people quickly jump to conclusions and shout out wrong answers like “0” or “3”.However, mathematics has strict rules that we must always follow to get the correct result. To solve this puzzle without making a mistake, we need to remember a fundamental rule from school. This rule is called the Order of Operations, often known as PEMDAS or BODMAS.This rule tells us exactly which calculation to perform first, second, and last.According to the Order of Operations, multiplication must always be done before addition.Let us break down the equation step by step together.First, identify all the multiplication parts in the equation. We have two separate multiplication expressions here: 10 x 4 and 7 x 0.Let us calculate the first multiplication part: 10 x 4.Ten multiplied by four equals 40.Now, let us calculate the second multiplication part: 7 x 0.Any number multiplied by zero always equals 0.So, seven multiplied by zero is simply 0.Now that all multiplication is finished, we can rewrite the entire equation with these new numbers. The original equation now becomes: 40 + 0 + 3.At this stage, all we have left is simple addition from left to right.First, add forty and zero together: 40 + 0 = 40.Finally, add the last number three to forty: 40 + 3 = 43.And there you have it!The correct and logical answer to this math puzzle is 43.It is amazing how a small rule like doing multiplication before addition can completely change the outcome.Math is not about guessing or moving fast; it is about following logical rules step by step.Did you manage to get the correct answer on your first try without using a calculator?Share this fun puzzle with your friends and family to test their math logic today!

Megyn Kelly's Surprising Endorsement: Don Lemon for President? New

Megyn Kelly's Surprising Endorsement: Don Lemon for President?

See more of our coverage in your search results. Conservative podcaster Megyn Kelly offered a surprising endorsement of media rival Don Lemon, who has repeatedly floated the idea of running for president in the 2028 election. During her podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show” Tuesday, Kelly, 55, argued Lemon, 60, should follow through on a presidential run – arguing he can’t be any worse than former Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Joe Biden. “I’m going to shock you. I think he should do it. I actually think he should do it,” Kelly said. Conservative podcaster Megyn Kelly (above) encouraged media rival Don Lemon to run for president. The Megyn Kelly Show“First of all, it’s not a dealbreaker that he has spent his life as a journalist. I mean, you could absolutely parlay that into a career in public service.“Second of all, do you really think Kamala Harris is a lot smarter than Don Lemon? Do you?” Kelly said. “I know she was at least a lawyer, she was an attorney general for the state of California – [but] no, I don’t believe so.“Do you think Joe Biden was? I don’t. Are we so enamored with our public officials now, we don’t think somebody like Don Lemon could do it? Honestly! I’m not.” Lemon – a former CNN anchor who now hosts his own podcast – has said he’s “serious” about running in the 2028 presidential election, insisting he’d be a “really good” commander-in-chief. He has also suggested using his podcast to campaign.“I actually think, yeah, he could match wits against AOC [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a possible 2028 election contender] just fine,” Kelly continued. “And will he do it from his podcasting booth? That would be interesting to watch.” “All I can say is it would certainly give us a lot to talk about, so I encourage him and I’m rooting for him.”  Don Lemon (above) has repeatedly floated running in the 2028 presidential election. UnclosetedLemon was fired from CNN in April 2023 after 17 years with the network, following accusations of his sexist and “diva-like behavior.” The controversial morning news host has since been working as an independent journalist, hosting his own podcast, “The Don Lemon Show,” on YouTube and other streaming platforms. In January, Lemon was arrested for allegedly joining a group of anti-ICE activists who stormed a church service in Minnesota. He pleaded not guilty to federal civil rights charges, arguing he was acting in his capacity as an independent journalist by covering the church protest.Kelly – a former TV personality on NBC News and Fox News – was fired from NBC News in 2018 after she defended the use of blackface in Halloween costumes. She apologized to staffers and viewers, but her show, “Megyn Kelly Today,” was promptly canceled.

Why Todd and Julie Chrisley's Tax Troubles Are Turning Heads Again New

Why Todd and Julie Chrisley's Tax Troubles Are Turning Heads Again

Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley are reportedly facing more than $1.5 million in unpaid federal taxes. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filed a tax lien for $1,571,452, on August 19, per records obtained by Page Six. Per the outlet, the filing submitted in Davidson County, Tennessee, lists two separate unpaid assessments for the periods ending December 2021 and December 2022, which broke down to $142,410 and $1,429,041. Todd, 57, and Julie, 53, have not publicly addressed the lien. Us has reached out for comment. The Chrisley Knows Best couple’s latest tax woes come more than one year after they received presidential pardons over their respective convictions for tax evasion, bank and wire fraud. (Todd and Julie, who have maintained their innocence, were convicted in 2022.) Two years into their prison sentences, Todd and Julie were granted pardons by President Donald Trump and released from jail. “I think [our relationship] is funnier. I think there’s more humor involved in it,” Todd said on daughter Savannah’s “Unlocked” podcast in July after life after prison. “I always viewed my marriage as not just me and [Julie], but all of our kids, and I think for the first time in my life, I view our marriage as singular, just me and her.” Todd and Julie, who have been married since 1996, share daughter Savannah, 29, and sons Chase, 30, and Grayson, 20. (The reality TV couple also adopted daughter Chloe, 13, who is the biological child of Todd’s son Kyle, 35, from a previous relationship.) “It was so heavy for literally, like, 10 years or more leading up to us going away because we dealt with it every day [that there] was something new,” Julie explained on Savannah’s podcast earlier this year. “I think there’s just a lightness [now].” For Todd and Julie, they had often blurred the lines of their relationship with parenthood duties. “At this point in my life, I’m probably more clear on what our marriage is and what it looks like and what it needs to be from my perspective,” Todd noted. “This is the person that I’m going to die with, this is the person that I’m going to be with for the rest of my life.” Julie echoed her spouse’s statement, hoping they can continually work on improving their connection. “I want my marriage to be better. I don’t want to ever stop working toward that. I think we have a great marriage, but I think there’s always room for improvement,” Julie stated. “I want to be a better mother [because] there’s always room for improvement [and] I want to be a better grandmother. There’s always room for improvement. [I want] to know that there’s always room for improvement and I don’t ever want to just stop. I don’t ever want to be like, ‘OK, this is as good as it gets.’”
