Bill Belichick's Sharp Response to Reporter Raises Eyebrows

North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick made it clear that he isn’t interested in discussing his personal life on the job. "Do you work for a tabloid now?” Belichick, 74, told WRAL on Monday, November 2, after being asked about his reported split from Jordon Hudson. “I'll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that's alright with you." Days before, TMZ broke the news that Belichick and Hudson, 25, had quietly broken up “late last year” despite recent public appearances together. While it’s unclear why the pair called it quits or who initiated the breakup, a source told the outlet that the duo are still committed to their business partnerships and remain close friends. (Us previously reached out to Belichick and Hudson for comment.)

According to USA Today Sports, who spoke with two staffers inside the UNC football office, the reported split caught those inside the organization by surprise. While Hudson and Belichick are staying quiet on their relationship status, TMZ reported that the former cheerleader is back in the dating field and already seeing other people after her breakup. The private pair met on a flight back in 2021 after the former New England Patriots coach signed one of Hudson’s textbooks. Their chance encounter later turned romantic, with Hudson being a fixture at UNC home games and Belichick’s recruiting trips. (The duo were spotted in September watching the Archbishop Spalding versus Gilman High School football game in Maryland.)

“I’ve loved supporting @billbelichick at his adult all-male football league competitions this season,” Hudson previously wrote via Instagram in November 2025. “Until next year, Kenan!” Belichick has repeatedly stayed mum on his romantic life and instead, stressed that Hudson has only helped with his personal obligations outside of UNC. “I stay focused on football and [for] some of the other opportunities that come along, Jordon looks at those and can dig into them a little bit deeper,” he said on the “Pivot” podcast last year. “But really, what she does is help me spend my time on football, and that’s what’s important to me.”
