Pro Wrestler Pac's Mysterious Final Moments Before Sudden Death

Share Post

The final moments of All Elite Wrestling star Benjamin Satterley’s life before his sudden death at the age of 40 have been revealed in a new police report.  Satterley (a.k.a. Pac) was observed “leaning back in the driver’s seat” of an Enterprise rental car in the parking lot of a Cava restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois on September 27, according to a report from the Des Plaines Police Department obtained by Us on Monday, October 5.  Satterley was pronounced dead at the scene with a wallet and phone in the vehicle’s center console. The wallet was used to confirm Satterley’s identity.  The responding officer on scene “did not find any injuries or suspicious markings on him besides what appeared to be saliva on the front of his shirt.” In the trunk of the car, the officer found two suitcases and a backpack, which contained some medication.

Google Maps was still open on Satterley’s phone, which showed what authorities believe to be his intention to travel to nearby O’Hare Airport in Chicago. Less than 24 hours before his body was found, Satterley competed on AEW’s All Out pay-per-view in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.  Another police officer arrived on the scene and noticed Satterley’s phone was ringing. The officer answered and spoke with the individual calling, identified as somebody “who also resides in the UK.” The person on the phone said Satterley’s flight out of Chicago had been delayed and he informed them about his plans to have lunch at Cava.  “Benjamin had taken a break from traveling during this time and had just recently began traveling by plane again,” the report said.  Satterley’s cause and manner of death are pending for additional testing, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office told Us on September 28. An autopsy was performed on the same day his body was discovered, with results taking up to “several weeks.”

Satterley’s death was announced by All Elite Wrestling on September 27.  The company read a statement from the late wrestler’s family — including his wife, Natalie — on a special Wednesday, September 30, tribute episode of Dynamite. “We are completely devastated to have lost our beautiful Ben,” the statement said. “But the love and support that we have received from every corner of the globe has been helping us get through these last few awful days. Whilst he will always have a legacy as one of the greatest wrestlers the U.K. has ever produced, we have been so glad to see so many wonderful tributes that acknowledged who Ben was as a person.” The family added, “Thank you to all of Ben’s fans for their support over the years. We send you our love and have been so moved to see so many people saying so many wonderful things about his impact on their lives, whether great or small. We will love you forever, Ben, and our lives will never be the same without you. Thank you, the Satterley family.”
