Miley Cyrus Defends Her Heartfelt Return to the Stage Amid Criticism New

Miley Cyrus Defends Her Heartfelt Return to the Stage Amid Criticism

Miley Cyrus is clapping back at criticism over her first full concert in four years. The “Bass Persuades” singer, 33, returned to the stage Friday, October 16, at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles for her first major show in some years. Cyrus has previously been vocal about taking a step back from live shows because of the physical and emotional toll of large-scale touring. “I have never heard that I don’t put my heart into something,” Cyrus said at the second of two shows at the Hollywod Bowl on Sunday, October 18, reacting to “clickbait” videos circulating online alleging that she didn’t appear fully engaged with her performance on Friday. Cyrus told the audience that she’s had many “controversial” moments in her career, but her commitment to her fans remains steadfast. “I’ll be honest, it is hard for me to stand up here and do this show. It does not come as natural as it once did,” the Grammy winner candidly said. “Like all of us, we change, we grow, we evolve, we find what gets to come with us, what continues to fit.” Cyrus assured her fans, “You all are more to me than an experiment. That is absolutely not what this is. This is not an experiment of you. This is an experience for me. You all make the experience possible. The only way that I get to test my personal boundaries, my limits, what I think I can do…” The singer admitted that she had some second thoughts about performing on Sunday, but didn’t want to let her fans down. “Before I came out for ‘Orbit,’ I already told myself I wasn’t gonna come onstage, I was gonna run away, but never would I leave you all sitting in these seats unfulfilled from a show,” she said. “I can take a lot, but one thing I will not stand is any question about where my heart is when I’m on the stage. I’m fully present. … The only thing that I have is this moment with all of you. To make it clear, I’m all here with you right now.” During Friday’s performance, Cyrus paid tribute to her late godmother, Dolly Parton, who died at age 80 in August after a brief battle with cancer. “Like so many things Dolly did that I didn’t understand at the time, sitting here with you all right now, feeling her all around me, knowing that she’s right here beside me every day, all the time, more than she could be when she was here, I feel her more than ever,” Cyrus said. She added, “And knowing that I get to share this story with you all, it makes that night very worth it. This memory is gold to me. Me and Dolly, we are eternal. Nothing in this life could ever tear us apart. And I’m going to see her again, and I can’t f***ing wait because I miss her.”

AI-Generated Photo of Elderly Couple Sparks Outrage in France New

AI-Generated Photo of Elderly Couple Sparks Outrage in France

The truth behind a disturbing photograph that appeared to show an elderly couple being stripped and robbed by rioters in France has been revealed. The image, which circulated widely on social media, appeared to show an elderly man and woman in their underwear surrounded by several men dressed entirely in black, wearing face coverings. The truth about the disturbing post An AI-generated image of an elderly couple during the Paris riots. Credit: X Unsurprisingly, it attracted almost six million views on X and was shared by multiple police unions as France experienced a wave of violent unrest over the weekend, after over 500,000 people took to the streets of Paris to protest cost of living issues and an underfunded, failing education system. However, closer examination revealed several glaring inconsistencies in the photograph, while Google's SynthID Detector indicated that it had been created using AI, with French media reports also suggesting the image was produced using the technology. Among the most obvious errors, two apparent rioters seemed to share the same pair of legs, while the elderly woman's hand appeared to be missing a finger. Elsewhere in the image, two faces in the background appeared to have merged together, while another person seemed to be missing their lower body entirely. Analysis using specialist detection software also identified an invisible watermark associated with generative AI, suggesting the photograph had either been created or altered using the technology. AI verification confirms AI use The original version circulating online was linked to Google's Gemini AI system, while a supposedly clearer variation was associated with OpenAI's technology, with both images reportedly containing an invisible watermark known as SynthID, which is designed to help identify content generated by AI. Some of the world's biggest AI companies, including OpenAI and Anthropic, have signed up to Google's service to aid people in determining whether digital content has been created using artificial intelligence. The photograph emerged after French media reported that an 80-year-old couple had allegedly been robbed and left almost naked by rioters at Place de la République, a prominent square in Paris where the rioters vandalized a statue and clashed with police. However, local reports indicated that the alleged incident had not been confirmed by Paris police, despite several prominent social media users sharing it as though it was genuine. Darren Grimes, a controversial Reform councillor and deputy leader of Durham County Council, wrote: “This is a truly horrifying scene from France. This is 'eat the rich' meeting its end destination. I hope each of these left-wing thugs meets the full force of French policing. Macron needs to go ASAP.” According to reports, more than 2,500 people were arrested, while nearly 1,000 security personnel were injured, with demonstrators also hurt, including one protester who reportedly lost a hand after being struck by a police crowd-control grenade. French President Emmanuel Macron rejected calls for his resignation and instead advised the country to develop new approaches “to put an end to the barricades and looting”. Featured Image Credit: X

C.J. Gardner-Johnson Faces Backlash After Shocking Spitting Incident New

C.J. Gardner-Johnson Faces Backlash After Shocking Spitting Incident

Buffalo Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was ejected and flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after spitting on Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers on Sunday, October 18.  The bizarre incident happened late in the second quarter of the teams’ game at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, as the two players were jawing with one another after a play.  CBS Sports cameras picked up the spit flying out of Gardner-Johnson’s mouth, which earned harsh criticism from legendary play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz.  “This is about as disrespectful as it gets,” Nantz, 67, said. Rules analyst Gene Steratore was brought in for commentary, calling the act “something we just don’t want to see in the game.” The CBS Sports halftime panel had similar thoughts, with an impassioned Nate Burleson calling out Gardner-Johnson for the move.  “What are you doing?” Burleson, 45, questioned. “I get it, scuffles happen. Jaw jacking happens. But you can’t do this. One, it’s childish, it’s immature. And it’s unprofessional. You’re supposed to be one of the veterans on the team and you get kicked out of the game for spitting?” https://twitter.com/NFLonCBS/status/2111935908404768784?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2111935908404768784%7Ctwgr%5E24ab39028ffe856ca1132a8a97db003e1668b510%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sbnation.com%2Fnfl%2F1132741%2Fcj-gardner-johnson-ejected-brock-bowers-spitting-bills-raiders Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Bill Cowher called Gardner-Johnson “selfish.” “In games like this, your ability to control your emotions and stay focused will be the difference in this game,” Cowher, 69, added.  Gardner-Johnson signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Bills in March.  The NFL veteran, who is currently playing with his sixth franchise, is no stranger to scandal — even when it comes to spitting. During his time with the New Orleans Saints in 2020, Gardner-Johnson was accused of spitting on Chicago Bears wide receiver Javon Wims amid a scuffle between the players. Gardner-Johnson denied spitting on Wims, though he was ultimately fined $5,128 for his involvement in the fight.  After winning the Super Bowl as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2025, Gardner-Johnson wore a sweatshirt that said “Swifties Can LIX My Balls” to the team’s victory parade. The Eagles had defeated Swift’s then-fiancé, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.  “Should’ve Stayed with that thick s—’, Gardner-Johnson wrote via his Instagram Story shortly after the Super Bowl alongside a photo of him taunting Kelce, 37, during the game.  The post was seemingly a dig at Kelce’s relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, who the Chiefs star dated shortly before he began seeing Swift. Kelce and Swift, 36, got married in July.

Could a Tapeworm Drug Be the Game-Changer for Endometriosis? New

Could a Tapeworm Drug Be the Game-Changer for Endometriosis?

See more of our coverage in your search results. Talk about an unlikely hero.Tapeworms are often the bane of the health world, from ill-advised use to achieve a slim waist to inflicting terrible neurological symptoms like headaches, confusion, seizures and death.Medication used for the little larvae could provide relief for a disease with debilitating pain and no cure that experts have deemed a clinical failure for millions of women.Medication for tapeworm infections could also provide relief for a debilitating condition that affects millions of women. Drazen – stock.adobe.comDespite 1 in 10 women of reproductive age worldwide suffering, Dr. Sheeva Talebian, board-certified reproductive endocrinologist, previously told The Post that symptoms of endometriosis are often unreported and misdiagnosed.A new study, though, has found a promising treatment for the progressive, inflammatory disease that could directly target the painful lesions growing outside the uterus.Published in August in the journal Advanced Healthcare Material, researchers fitted niclosamide, an FDA-approved anti-worm drug, with nanotech armor for use in mice. The medication reduced inflammation and slowed or prevented further spread of the lesions — a boon for the condition whose existing treatments merely alleviate symptoms, albeit with side effects. While there’s no cure for endometriosis, current remedies like hormonal medications stall the menstrual cycle to limit the growth of lesions, while surgeries can remove the lesions themselves or parts of the reproductive system to manage pain. However, the medications can often cause side effects, like nausea and mood swings. Meanwhile, lesions can keep growing after surgery. These adverse effects prompted the need for an additional option.A new treatment for endometriosis was discovered by restructuring the common tapeworm medication niclosamide. ggw – stock.adobe.comPrevious research in mice found a group of rogue immune cells specific to endometrial lesion tissue that drove growth and turbocharged the painful inflammation.Researchers also discovered a unique chemical label in the cells called a folate receptor, which made them a potential target for drugs — specifically, niclosamide.Clinicians had already been testing whether this drug could be used for other conditions beyond tapeworm infections, making it a potential treatment for endometriosis. The drug reduced inflammation and slowed the growth of lesions outside the uterus, two hallmark signs of endometriosis. megaflopp – stock.adobe.comWorking with nanomedicine specialists, the team worked to restructure niclosamide so it could dissolve better in blood by attaching it to a molecule known as a dendrimer.A folate receptor was also added so the modified medication targeted the rogue immune cells in endometrial lesion tissue. The final medication is similar to someone riding in a carshare, according to Anjali Sharma, a nanomedicine specialist at the University of Michigan who worked with the research team to develop the medication.“Basically, the dendrimer is like the Uber, the folate is like the GPS, and the drug is like the passenger,” Sharma told Live Science.“The drug is attached in such a way that when it is in systemic circulation, nothing happens until it goes inside the diseased cells,” Sharma said.Once there, it is slowly released inside the cell over a period of two weeks. In mouse models, a single injection of the drug directly targeted affected endometrial tissue, dramatically reducing pain and slowing, or even entirely stopping, the growth of new lesions. However, there’s still significant work to do to ensure the medication can be used on humans — namely the fact that mice don’t menstruate or develop endometriosis. The researchers believe the drug still shows immense promise, though.“There’s a lot of potential in repurposing of drugs that have been tested in clinical trials to see if they would be effective in endometriosis,” Ioannis Simitsidellis, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Edinburgh’s Centres for Reproductive Health and Inflammation Research who wasn’t involved in the study, told Live Science.Even at such an early stage in the process, the researchers have received hundreds of emails asking to join future trials.Next steps would be testing the medication in larger sample sizes and then, if the results are promising, clinical trials on humans.

Why This Simple Math Puzzle Is Confusing Everyone Online New

Why This Simple Math Puzzle Is Confusing Everyone Online

Math puzzles often go viral on the internet because they look simple at first glance. However, they frequently confuse thousands of people due to order of operations. In the picture, we see a handwritten math problem: 25 ÷ 5(2+3).Above the equation, it clearly says: “Answer is NOT 1”.Many people might wonder why the answer is not 1 and what the correct value actually is.Let us break down this puzzle step by step using basic arithmetic rules. To solve any mathematical expression correctly, we must follow the standard order of operations. This rule is widely known as PEMDAS or BODMAS.Both acronyms stand for Parentheses (Brackets), Exponents (Orders), Multiplication and Division, and Addition and Subtraction. The most crucial part of this rule is how multiplication and division are handled.Multiplication and division have equal priority in mathematics. This means you do not always perform multiplication before division.Instead, you must perform multiplication and division strictly from left to right as they appear. Now, let us apply this rule directly to our problem: 25 ÷ 5(2+3).Step 1: Focus on the expression inside the parentheses first. We calculate (2 + 3), which equals 5.Now, we replace (2 + 3) with 5 in our expression. The math problem now becomes 25 ÷ 5 × 5.Step 2: Look at the remaining operations, which are division and multiplication.Since division and multiplication have the exact same level of precedence, we move from left to right. The first operation on the left side is 25 ÷ 5.We perform 25 ÷ 5, which equals 5.Step 3: Substitute 5 back into the expression. Now we are left with 5 × 5.Finally, we calculate 5 × 5, which gives us 25.Why do many people incorrectly think the answer is 1?They wrongly multiply 5 by (2 + 3) first to get 5 × 5 = 25.Then they divide 25 by 25, reaching 1.This is incorrect because it violates the left-to-right rule for multiplication and division. The image correctly hints that the answer is not 1.By following the logical and standard rules of algebra, the correct answer is definitely 25.

Luke Bryan's Son Bo Faces Setback After Dramatic Football Injury New

Luke Bryan's Son Bo Faces Setback After Dramatic Football Injury

Luke Bryan’s son suffered a scary injury while playing quarterback during his high school football game in Tennessee. Thomas Boyer “Bo” Bryan exited Battle Ground Academy’s Friday, October 16, game against Pope John Paul II after being sacked and landing on his right shoulder. Bo, 18, eventually returned to the sideline of the game with his arm in a sling and his shoulder wrapped. After the game, Bo shared that he initially thought it was a stinger when he hit the ground but knew there was something wrong when he got off the field. Bo told The Tennessean that he would be undergoing an X-Ray after the game. “I don't know what we're looking at yet," BGA coach Bobby Bentley told the Tennessean after the game. "We'll have to figure this thing out. That's the challenge for us as a team and as coaches. What do we do? How do we do it? We're going to figure it out." The next day, Bo shared an update on his condition via social media. “Broke my collarbone last night,” he wrote via his Instagram Story on Saturday, October 17, per USA Today. “Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We will be back.” Luke, 50, welcomed Bo with wife Caroline Boyer in 2008 and added son Tatum “Tate” Christopher Bryan to their family two years later. After his sister, Kelly Bryan, and brother-in-law, Ben Lee Cheshire, died, Luke and Caroline took in their three children — Til, Kris and Jordan — to raise with their sons. Weeks before Bo’s injury, Luke shared a sweet message of support for his son and said he was “super impressed” by him. “His senior year, he’s learning as he goes,” Luke told the USA Today High School Sports social media account in September after a game. “Everything that happens to him this year, it’s the first time he’s had all these pressure situations. The ups, the downs.” Luke cited a moment where the high schooler’s coach appeared to trust Bo’s instinct, sharing that he “can’t be more proud as a dad.” “The main thing is you see the hard work that he puts in and you just want the hard work to pay off,” Luke said. “Nights like tonight is when you get to celebrate that. The main thing is to see his hard work and his commitment and his love for the game. Bo is really young in his development as a quarterback because he was a two and three sport athlete his whole life. So the fact that he’s able to really turn the corner on being a quarterback and things, it’s all about confidence as [a] quarterback and [there’s] no bigger game than that tonight. … I’m just so proud of him.”

Sister's Heartfelt Tribute to College Athlete Tyler Ulrich After Tragic Passing

The sister of late Southern Nazarene sophomore safety Tyler Ulrich shared an emotional post after her brother’s sudden death at 21 after suffering a “traumatic injury” during a game. “I never thought I would have to find the words to say goodbye to my big brother.  No amount of time could have ever prepared me for the heartbreak of losing you,” Kaylee Parrish wrote via Facebook on Thursday, October 15. “I wish I could hear your laugh one more time, or have just one more conversation with you. There are so many things I wish I could say and so many more memories I wish we could make together.” She continued, “You weren’t just my older brother, you were someone I always thought would be here. Someone I thought I’d get to grow old with, laugh with, and share all of life’s biggest moments with. It’s hard to imagine a world where you’re no longer here, and even harder knowing that life has to go on without you in it.” Ulrich died on Thursday, five days after he suffered an injury during a game against Ouachita Baptist University. Details about the incident are unclear, but Southern Nazarene president SNU President Keith Newman described it as “a traumatic injury.” An official cause of death has not been announced. “I would give anything for just one more day with you,” Parrish continued. “I hope you knew how much I loved you and how much you meant to me. I’ll forever cherish every memory, every laugh, and every moment we got to share. A piece of my heart went to Heaven with you, and nothing will ever fill that empty space.” Her post concluded, Until then, I’ll carry you with me through every milestone, every memory, and every day of my life. I’ll love you, miss you, and wish you were here for the rest of my days. I’ll never let anyone forget you and I will spend the rest of my life trying to walk through your shoes and live the way you would want me [to]. I love you big brother, thank you for all you’ve taught me! Until we meet again .” Tyler’s father, Mark, confirmed his son’s death on social media on Thursday.  “Our family is truly blessed to receive all the love and prayers for our young Tyler and we are ever grateful,” Mark wrote via Facebook. “But as much support and love that was given, it is with a heavy heart I am writing to say the Lord called Tyler this morning at 11:13 a.m. Tyler will join many of our loved ones that have passed.
