Katie Zacharia's Fox News Interviews That Led to Her Swift Exit

See more of our coverage in your search results. Katie Zacharia lined up a pair of disastrous Fox News media appearances that ultimately led to her own downfall as White House press secretary, text messages obtained by The Post reveal. The texts show Zacharia — who stepped down Friday after just five days in the job President Trump hired her for — pushing for two media appearances that were ultimately scheduled for Thursday and Friday, following her rocky debut at the White House podium.“I’d like to do news hits morning and evening,” Zacharia wrote Wednesday in a text message with a White House official about the bookings, which were postponed for a day.Text messages obtained by the Post reveal White House press secretary Katie Zacharia seeking to set up her own TV appearances with Fox News. Her unsteady performance on air helped lead to her resignation by the end of the week. MediaPunch / BACKGRIDDuring the bumpy interviews with Fox host Sean Hannity on Thursday night and “Fox & Friends” Friday morning, the Trump mouthpiece awkwardly tried to explain her failure to pass the California bar and struggled to go beyond talking points on other issues. The appearances were so unsteady that one source in a Politico story termed it a “sanctioned hit” — suggesting it was orchestrated by Trump’s White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, who did not sign off on the high-profile hiring in advance. However, text messages indicate that Zacharia was leading the charge to get herself more camera time — and do not show that Wiles had a role in the TV hits.By Friday, President Trump said publicly Zacharia wasn’t right for the role, advising that “you don’t need this” before she suddenly ended what may have been the shortest tenure of any White House press secretary. The texts, which also show consultations with Fox over an interview during a post-rally media appearance, indicate Zacharia was pursuing TV exposure as early as Tuesday — the day of her first briefing. Zacharia appeared on Sean Hannity’s prime-time Fox News show as well as on “Fox & Friends,” where she was asked to explain her statements about her profession after failing to pass the California bar. REUTERSA Hannity producer wrote Tuesday, “Katie said she can join us from the rally tonight.”One of Zacharia’s comments to Hannity on Thursday had the host wondering if she blamed the West Wing for her early stumbles. “Given the fact that I’d been on the job less than maybe eight hours and had a briefing book in the morning, I feel like I did my very best, Sean, to deliver for the American people that day,” she told Hannity.“Am I hearing that you think the staff should have prepped you better?” Hannity asked.A White House official said Zacharia, who gushed about the president online Friday after leaving her post, “will not be working at the White House anymore.” Another White House official said they had not hear anything about what her new role could be.Politico noted that Wiles and Hannity are friendly and speak often — but the White House said claims Wiles was involved in Zacharia’s downfall were “hit jobs” and “smear.”The text messages show Zacharia seeking her own TV bookings following a report that characterized them as a “sanctioned hit” by White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles AFP via Getty ImagesZacharia, who as The Post reported, dined with Vice President JD Vance Friday night, was nonspecific when asked Saturday what role she would transition into next.Former White House press secretary and Fox News commentator Kayleigh McEnany weighed in with her own take on Zacharia’s baptism-by-fire on Fox Saturday morning.“You want to give grace to anyone who takes on that role … How is she doing this 24 hours in? I had about two weeks to prepare and to get thoughts together and to talk to various cabinet administration officials,” she said Saturday.“That was pretty much doomed from the start to roll out to the press.”Trump said Friday at the White House there was “zero chance” of replacing Wiles and that she was “going to be here for a long time.”

An additional helicopter will be deployed later today, according to the Coast Guard. The boat capsized in an area frequented by smugglers and did not happen in US waters, according to the Coast Guard. Survivors told officials there were 27 people on board.“We were able to help, and that’s why we launched our assets,” said Petty Officer Charlie Valor on Saturday. The region is popular with fishing and leisure boats, but fatal attempts to transport migrants from Mexico to the US have occurred in the past. The Mexican consulate in San Diego said all those rescued were Mexican nationals. The Coast Guard said Customs and Border Protection was investigating and interviewing the survivors, but the agency did not immediately respond to requests for updates. AP Photo/Denis PoroyIf survivors were witnesses to a crime, they may be eligible for humanitarian parole and permitted to remain in the country for a limited period.Rescuers were searching the area with helicopters, a fixed-wing plane, a cutter and a Navy combat ship on Saturday. The efforts remain ongoing.Mayday call around 1 a.m.A mayday call was transmitted from someone on the boat around 1 a.m. Friday, said Coast Guard Lt. Santiago Tamburini. A rescue helicopter reached the site about two hours later. It took about 90 minutes for the crew, which included a rescue swimmer, to pull the 16 people from the water, Tamburini said. The boat went down about 140 miles west of Ensenada, Mexico. There have been several episodes where migrant vessels capsized en route to California in recent years. In May of 2025, at least three people died when a boat flipped off the coast about 35 miles north of the US-Mexico border. In 2023, eight people were killed in one of the deadliest maritime smuggling accidents off the US coast, when two boats approached a San Diego beach in heavy fog and one capsized in the surf.

The Phone Call That Changed Everything: A Shocking Truth Unveiled New

The Phone Call That Changed Everything: A Shocking Truth Unveiled

Five months after our divorce became final, a doctor called and said, “Your son was born early this morning.” I didn’t even know my ex-wife had been pregnant. I rushed to the hospital, convinced she had hidden my child from me. But when I demanded an explanation, she looked me straight in the eyes and said, “Daniel, I tried to tell you.” Then she showed me something on her phone that made me realize the story I had believed about our divorce might not have been true at all.I was sitting in a downtown Chicago conference room when the call came.A $760 million redevelopment agreement lay open in front of me. Lawyers, investors, and executives were waiting for my signature. My phone vibrated.Unknown number.Normally, I would have ignored it.For some reason, I answered.“Daniel Hart?”“Yes.”“This is Dr. Miriam Cole from Franklin Medical Center in Virginia. I’m calling regarding your former wife, Elena Moore.”My hand tightened around the phone.“Is she all right?”“She’s stable now. She developed se:vere com:plications this morning, and we had to deliver her baby by emergency C-section at thirty-two weeks.”I froze.“Her baby?”There was a pause.“Your son was born at 5:41 this morning.”For several seconds, I couldn’t speak.“My son?”“Yes. Ms. Moore listed you as the father in her medical records.”I stood slowly.“I didn’t know she was pregnant.”“I understand.”“Did Elena ask you to call me?”“No. She was heavily medicated after surgery. Her sister provided your number and insisted we contact you.”That somehow made the situation even worse.“Is the baby alive?”“Yes. He’s premature, but stable in the NICU.”“And Elena?”“Exhausted, but stable.”“I’m coming.”I ended the call.Across the table, my business partner, Victor Lang, stared at me.“What happened?”I grabbed my jacket.“I have a son.”Something changed in Victor’s expression.Only for a second. At the time, I was too stunned to think about it.One of the lawyers pointed toward the contract.“Daniel, we can postpone for an hour.”“I’m leaving.”Victor stood.“North Quay has taken us three years.”“My son has been alive for less than six hours.”I walked out.I booked the first flight I could get to Virginia.During the flight, all I could think about was Elena. We had been married for seven years. When I started Hartstone Development, Elena had helped me build financial models at our kitchen table. She was a forensic accountant. She could look at twenty pages of numbers and immediately notice the one transaction that didn’t belong. When the company was small, we were a team. Then it grew.Victor joined in our third year and eventually became chief operating officer. He was organized, calm, and ruthlessly efficient.I trusted him with almost everything. That included our internal communications systems.Hartstone used a company-managed business number that handled calls, voicemail, and messaging through the same platform.I used that number for nearly everything, including personal communication. It was convenient. It was also a mistake.Victor oversaw operations and had administrator-level access to the communications platform, corporate email, and employee devices.I never imagined that access could be used against me.While the company expanded, my marriage slowly collapsed.I missed dinners.Canceled weekends.Worked through anniversaries.Whenever Elena complained, I told her the same thing.“I’m building this for us.”Eventually she stopped arguing about money. She started saying something worse.“I don’t need more from you, Daniel. I need more of you.”I heard the words.I just didn’t change anything.About seven months before my son was born, I came home from a two-week business trip and found Elena sitting at our kitchen table with a stack of invoices.“You need to see these.”I barely had my suitcase inside.“What are they?”“North Quay.”That was the project I had spent years chasing.Elena spread several documents across the table.“These vendors supposedly have no connection to each other, but some share addresses, billing patterns, and transfer routes.”“How did you get these?”“You asked me to review the financial package before you left.”I had forgotten. She pointed to several transactions.“I’ve already found more than $10 million in payments I can’t explain.”That got my attention.Several invoices carried Victor’s authorization.Elena noticed me looking at his name.“I asked him about one of them.”My head snapped up.“You called Victor?”“Yes.”“You don’t work for Hartstone.”“You gave me the records.”“I asked you to look at the numbers, not investigate my COO.”Her expression hardened.“Daniel, I did this professionally for years.”“And we have a finance department.”“What if the problem is inside the finance department?”I was exhausted.Instead of listening, I became defensive. The argument stopped being about invoices. It became about our marriage.Every missed dinner.Every canceled vacation.Every time I had told her, “After this deal.”Finally Elena said, “You protect that company harder than you protect us.”“That isn’t fair.”“Then tell me the last time you chose this marriage over work.”I said nothing. She waited.Still nothing. Then, frustrated and tired, I said the sentence I regretted almost immediately.“Maybe we need some space.”Her face changed.“Is that what you want?”It wasn’t.I wanted the argument to stop.I wanted her to stop asking me to change. But instead of saying that, I stayed silent. The next morning, Elena packed a suitcase and went to stay with her sister, Sophie, in Virginia.Neither of us knew that she was in the very earliest stage of pregnancy. The day after she left, Victor called her.I wouldn’t learn that until much later. He demanded to know what North Quay records she had copied.Elena refused to tell him.Victor then claimed I was furious that she had taken confidential company material and that I wanted all future communication handled through attorneys.Elena didn’t believe him.Not yet.Three days later, Victor entered my office carrying a printed email. It appeared to come from a small law firm in Virginia. The message said Elena wanted a divorce and requested no direct contact.I read it twice.“She hired a lawyer?”Victor sat across from me.“I’m sorry.”“She wants a divorce?”“That’s what it says.”I should have called Elena. One phone call could have changed everything.Instead, I let pride answer for me.“If that’s what she wants, give it to her.”I told my own attorney to file.Within days, Elena was served. That was the moment Victor’s lie became believable to her.Until then, she had thought he might be exaggerating. But now she was holding real divorce papers with my name on them. From her perspective, she had left after one terrible argument, and I had responded by filing to end our marriage. From mine, I believed I was simply giving her the divorce she had requested.About two weeks later, Elena discovered she was pregnant. She called my company-managed number immediately.I never saw the call. She tried again. And again.Over the next several days, she called six times. She left three voicemails.None reached me.She sent messages to the same business number.Nothing appeared on my phone. She emailed my corporate address.I saw none of those either. Finally, she called my executive assistant. She said she urgently needed to speak with me about something personal. She did not mention the pregnancy because she wanted to tell me herself.By then, Victor had already told my assistant that all communication from Elena should be redirected because of the divorce.Elena then called the attorney listed on my divorce papers. The receptionist told her that the firm represented me and could not advise her or discuss private matters outside the case.Elena left her name and asked for me to contact her.The message reached our office.Victor handled it as if it were routine divorce correspondence.I never heard about it.Eventually, Elena sent one final message.Daniel, I don’t understand why you won’t answer me. I’m pregnant. I’ve called you, left messages, emailed you, contacted your office, and even called your attorney. You were the one who filed for divorce. I never wanted our marriage to end. If you truly want me gone, I’ll stop trying. But you deserve to know about the baby. The company messaging platform recorded it as delivered.I never saw it.Weeks passed. The divorce continued.Elena later told me she considered fighting it.But by then, she believed I knew about the pregnancy and still refused to speak to her.She consulted an attorney only to review the paperwork. She didn’t ask that lawyer to use the pregnancy as leverage.“I wasn’t going to force you to stay married to me because I was carrying your child,” she would later tell me.So when the final papers came, she signed. From her perspective, my silence was the answer.Five months later, our son was born eight weeks early.I knew none of this when I reached Franklin Medical Center.Dr. Cole met me outside Elena’s room.“Before you go in, you need to know something.”“What?”“Elena believes you already knew about the pregnancy.”“That’s impossible.”“She says she tried repeatedly to reach you.”“I never received anything.”The doctor studied me.“I’m not deciding what happened. I’m asking you to remember that she had emergency surgery this morning. Don’t turn this into a fight.”“I won’t.”When I entered Elena’s room, she looked exhausted. The moment she saw me, her expression hardened.“Why are you here?”“The hospital called.”She gave a bitter laugh.“So now you answer.”I stopped.“What does that mean?”“I called you six times.”My stomach tightened.“I never got them.”“I left three voicemails.”“I never heard them.”“I emailed you.”“Elena—”“I called your office. I called your lawyer.”“I didn’t know.”She stared at me.Then she reached for her phone.“Then explain this.”She showed me her final message.I read it once. Then again.“I never saw this.”“It says delivered.”“I don’t care what it says. I never saw it.”Her eyes filled with tears.“I waited for weeks.”“I thought you wanted the divorce.”Elena stared at me.“What?”I told her about the email from her supposed attorney. She slowly shook her head.“I didn’t hire a lawyer until after you filed.”A cold feeling spread through me.“You never sent that email?”“No.”“Never?”“No.”I sat down. For the first time, the ending of our marriage no longer made sense. Then I remembered something. Our communications system.Victor’s access.I stepped into the hallway and called our head of IT security, Marcus Lee.“I need you to pull archived records from my account.”“What records?”“Calls from Elena. Voicemail access. Messaging filters. Blocked contacts. Corporate email rules. Administrator logins.”There was a pause.“Something happen?”“Yes.”“One more thing.”“What?”“Do not tell Victor.”Marcus went quiet.“Understood.”Then I went to meet my son.His name was Eli Moore.Elena had given him her surname. That hurt for half a second. Then I understood. As far as she knew, I had learned about our baby and deliberately ignored her.I would have done the same.Eli weighed three pounds, ten ounces. He looked impossibly small inside the incubator.A nurse opened one side and told me I could touch him gently.I reached inside. His fingers closed around mine. And I cried. Not quietly. Not gracefully.I had spent years sitting in rooms where people discussed hundreds of millions of dollars.Nothing had ever made me feel smaller than that tiny hand.Marcus called me shortly after midnight.“We found the calls.”My heart started pounding.“All six?”“Yes.”“What happened?”“Elena’s number had a routing rule attached specifically to it.”“Where did the calls go?”“To an internal extension.”“Whose?”Marcus hesitated.“Victor’s.”I closed my eyes.“The voicemails?”“Three were recorded. All three were later deleted using administrator credentials.”“Whose credentials?”“Victor’s.”“The messages?”“Her contact was placed on a restricted list inside the company communication platform. The system could mark messages as received even though they were filtered before reaching your device.”“Email?”“There’s a mailbox rule redirecting messages from Elena into a hidden archive.”“Created by?”“Victor’s administrator account.”I leaned against the hospital wall.“Preserve everything.”“Already started.”“Find the email Victor showed me from Elena’s supposed attorney.”By sunrise, Marcus had another answer. The law firm didn’t exist. The domain used to send the email had been created shortly before Victor brought the message to me.Technical records connected its setup and access to devices and resources under Victor’s control. The email that convinced me my wife wanted a divorce had been fabricated. But I still didn’t understand why.Elena did. When I told her what Marcus had found, she became very still.“North Quay.”I looked at her.“The invoices?”She nodded.“I copied everything before I left Chicago.”“How much did you find?”“More than $10 million before I stopped looking.”Everything connected.Elena had found suspicious payments. She had questioned Victor.Victor realized she could expose him. Then our marriage gave him the perfect opportunity. We had one terrible argument.Elena left.Victor told her I wanted no contact. Then he for:ged an email making me believe she wanted a divorce.I filed. The real divorce papers convinced Elena that Victor had been telling the truth. Then she discovered she was pregnant. If she reached me, we would finally talk.If we talked, she would tell me about Victor. So he intercepted every channel he controlled.Calls.Voicemails.Messages.Corporate email. My assistant.Even the callback from my attorney’s office. He didn’t have to control our entire lives. He only had to control the systems I had foolishly allowed to become our main way of communicating.I suspended the North Quay signing immediately. Then I hired independent forensic accountants and cybersecurity investigators.I did not confront Victor.I wanted proof first.Over the next few weeks, investigators uncovered a network of shell vendors tied to North Quay. Some billed for work that had never been performed.Others inflated legitimate expenses.Payments were split into smaller amounts to avoid additional review.Money moved through several entities before reaching accounts linked to people connected with Victor. The amount Elena had found was only part of it.The technology investigation confirmed everything Marcus had discovered. The diverted calls. The deleted voicemails. The hidden emails. The blocked messages. The fake law-firm domain.Only when the evidence had been secured did I call an emergency board meeting.Victor arrived expecting to discuss project financing.I slid a folder across the table. He opened it.Vendor records.Transfer histories.Administrator logs.Email filters.Deleted voicemail records. His expression barely changed.“Elena gave you these?”“Does it matter?”“She never understood North Quay.”“Then explain it.”For several minutes, he tried. He talked about consultants.Acquisition structures.Operational complexity. Then I placed the communication records in front of him.“Explain why you blocked my wife’s calls.”He stopped. Finally, he said quietly, “By then, she wasn’t your wife anymore.”The room went silent.“She became my ex-wife because you made me believe she wanted a divorce.”His jaw tightened.“You two were already falling apart.”That sentence stayed with me.Because beneath everything Victor had done, there was one uncomfortable truth. He hadn’t created every problem between Elena and me.He had exploited problems that were already there. He fabricated the divorce request. He intercepted her attempts to tell me about our son.He used our silence to protect his fra:ud.But I was the man who had dismissed Elena when she first brought me the invoices.I was the man who let work consume our marriage. And when someone told me my wife wanted a divorce, I trusted a printed email instead of calling the woman I had loved for seven years.Victor built the trap.My pride helped close it.The board removed him that day.Months later, cri:minal charges were filed over the financial scheme. But by then, my priorities had changed.Eli remained in the NICU for seven weeks.I stayed in Virginia. At first, Elena believed I was there because I felt guilty. She wasn’t wrong. But guilt eventually became something else.I learned how to change a diaper around wires.I learned what each monitor meant.I learned how terrifying ten seconds could become when your child struggled to breathe. And Elena and I began talking again. Not about remarriage. Not at first. We talked about the marriage we had lost. One night, while Eli slept against her chest, Elena said, “I never wanted you to stop working.”“I know.”“No. I don’t think you did.”I looked at her.“I was proud of what you built, Daniel. I just got tired of always coming second to it.”“I thought I was building all of it for us.”“But eventually there wasn’t much of an us left.”I had no defense. For once, I didn’t look for one. When Eli finally left the hospital, Elena took him to Sophie’s house temporarily.I rented a place nearby. Then I took parental leave.Real leave. No secret conference calls. No checking email every five minutes. For years, I had convinced myself Hartstone couldn’t function without me.It did. That realization was humbling.Elena and I started counseling so we could become good co-parents.That was all we promised each other. Then months passed.Coffee after pediatric appointments became lunch.Lunch became dinner. We learned how to disagree without disappearing.Elena learned to speak before resentment became silence.I learned to listen without immediately defending myself. And I learned that being in the same room did not mean I was truly present.Almost a year after Eli was born, he pulled himself upright against Elena’s couch. My phone started ringing.A board call.I looked at the screen. Then silenced it.Elena noticed.“Aren’t you supposed to answer that?”Eli let go of the couch. For one second, he stood by himself. Then he fell laughing into my arms.I smiled.“They’ll survive ten minutes.”Elena looked at me differently.“You really have changed.”“I should have changed sooner.”Nearly two years after Eli was born, Elena and I married again. It was small.Family.A few close friends.Eli in tiny suspenders trying to escape halfway through the ceremony. No investors. No giant ballroom. No business reporters. And for once, I wasn’t thinking about what meeting came next.Sometimes I still think about the morning Dr. Cole called me.My pen had been inches from one of the biggest contracts of my career. Then a stranger said:“Your son was born early this morning.”I didn’t know Elena had been pregnant.I didn’t know she had called six times.I didn’t know she had left three voicemails.I didn’t know she had sent messages, emails, contacted my office, and even tried my attorney.Someone had made sure those attempts never reached me.For a long time, I wanted to blame Victor for everything. He deserved blame. But the hardest truth was that his plan worked because Elena and I had already stopped speaking directly when it mattered most.He created the silence. Our pride allowed it to grow. And I learned something I will never forget. If someone tells you what a person you love supposedly thinks, wants, or said, and you still have the ability to ask that person yourself, ask.Pick up the phone.Show up.Have the uncomfortable conversation.Because silence doesn’t always mean there is nothing left to say.Sometimes the call was made.Sometimes the message was sent.Sometimes someone tried harder than you ever knew. You just never received it.

Shane Gillis Faces Backlash After SNL UK’s Bold Swipe New

Shane Gillis Faces Backlash After SNL UK’s Bold Swipe

Saturday Night Live UK showed that it's not afraid to bite the hand that feeds it by taking a swipe at the U.S. version of SNL and its most recent host, Shane Gillis. On Saturday, October 17, "Weekend Update UK" cohost Ania Magliano told back-to-back jokes about what occurred on SNL U.S. last Saturday, October 10, including mocking Gillis, 38, for suggesting in his monologue that some women dress like “whores” at the gym "A ride operator at Munich Oktoberfest was praised for giving free cycling shorts to female riders," she began. "Wearing the gym shorts will protect women from being upskirted but it does make them vulnerable to something much worse…" A photo of Gillis delivering his monologue on last weekend's Saturday Night Live flashed on the screen, drawing laughs from the U.K. audience. Magliano, 28, then roasted Gillis for accidentally saying "f***" live on air during a Dr. Seuss sketch. "Last week on SNL, comedian Shane Gillis also caused controversy by dropping the F-bomb," she explained. "Oh Shane, you're not allowed to say that, you stupid f***ing c***t." The uncensored joke was met with uproarious laughter from the SNL UK studio audience while Magliano grinned at the camera. The timing of the shot at Gillis was curious since Saturday's SNL UK also featured the first official crossover between the two versions of the show, as U.S. cast member James Austin Johnson reprised his impression of President Donald Trump for a sketch where U.K. comedian George Fouracres played Prime Minister Andy Burnham. The ripples of controversy over Gillis' SNL monologue continue one week after he raised more than a few eyebrows by mocking women's gym attire on the stage of Studio 8H. “I haven’t been to the gym in so long, I didn’t know women just dress like whores now?” Gillis quipped. “Look, I’m sorry, there’s no other way to describe [it]. Have you seen it? I’ve seen it. You’ve seen the shorts? They’re those neon, like, artificial bait-colored [shorts], and the wrinkles go around the cheeks and all combine at the butthole. And don’t look! You’re not allowed to look.” His comments were condemned as sexist by numerous viewers and by fellow comedians, including former SNL cast member Ego Nwodim and Schitt's Creek star Dan Levy. “Women wearing short shorts to the gym does not make them whores,” Levy, 43, told his Instagram followers on Sunday, October 11. “It makes the men calling them whores misogynists. There’s a difference there.” The comedian noted that he'd "seen more men’s nipples at the gym than I’ve ever seen women showing their bodies off.” "I’m speechless that something like that can exist on live national television,” Levy went on to say. “And to be perfectly honest, more men need to be standing up in opposition to it because it’s complacency that has created the environment [in] which women are sexually assaulted, and it’s a conversation as opposed to a crime.” He added, “This is not a women’s issue. This is an everybody issue, because the more that men objectify women in the media, the more that other men see them as objects and treat them as objects. They are not objects. They are superior human beings to men, OK? And I’m sorry if this gets me in trouble with the internet, but f***.” Saturday Night Live U.S. airs its next new episode on NBC Saturday, October 31, at 11:30 p.m. ET with host Inde Navarrette and musical guest Gracie Abrams. Cynthia Erivo and Blossoms will headline SNL UK on Sky One Saturday, October 24.

Why Abby Howard's Response to Mom-Shaming Is Sparking Conversations New

Why Abby Howard's Response to Mom-Shaming Is Sparking Conversations

Influencer Abby Howard is shutting down mom-shamers by clarifying the difference between showing genuine concern and being judgmental. “Hey I just want everybody concerned to know that there are no sleeves on my poncho so there is lots of air flow up to the baby,” Howard, 27, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, October 13, after fans questioned the safety of the content creator wearing a plastic poncho while her 7-week-old son, Fischer, was strapped to her chest underneath the garment during a recent trip to Disney. Howard continued, “Like a cover on a stroller. he was very safe as I was constantly wafting air and checking on him. Didn’t want the little guy to get soaked. ❤️. Also mom shame is never cool ✌️.” In a follow-up post, she added, “And yes, there is a difference between genuine concern to acknowledge a potential safety risk and mom shame. Some people need to learn the difference. I take my children’s well being very seriously and I won’t let that be questioned any more.” Abby shares Fischer, as well as sons Griffin, 4, and August, 3, with husband Matt Howard. The couple welcomed Fischer in August after previously suffering a pregnancy loss. “He’s here!!!!” Matt, 28, wrote via Instagram at the time. “We have been soaking up every bit of this beautiful new chapter as a family of 5. Can’t wait to slowly catch you all up on the past week of our life.” Matt and Abby announced in August 2025 that they were expecting baby No. 3. One month later, the couple revealed they had experienced a miscarriage. “It is with very heavy hearts that we share about the loss of our baby girl born far too soon,” they wrote via Instagram at the time. “At a routine pregnancy appointment, our doctor could not find a heartbeat. Shortly after they sent us in for an ultrasound where the technician said words we will never forget, ‘I am so sorry I do not have good news.’” The statement continued, “That is when we got the gender reveal we never hoped for and also the news that our baby had a genetic condition that took her life around 17 weeks gestation.” Matt and Abby added that the news “felt unimaginable” and the grief has been “absolutely devastating.” “But we feel so much gratitude for the time that we did get to have with her. And we still have hope. Hope has continued to show up for us in so many ways,” the pair concluded. “For now we will grieve and continue to think of ways to honor her life offline. Thoughts and prayers are more than welcome. Thank you everyone for celebrating this precious life with us for the past 17 weeks.❤️.”

An injured bird in an Amsterdam zoo made history as the first in the world to receive two 3D-printed beak prosthetics. The southern ground hornbill at Artis Zoo got the custom-made artificial beaks — printed from plastic and attached with screws by surgeons — to replace his upper and lower ones, which had both broken, affecting his quality of life and ability to eat.A southern hornbill received two 3D-printed beak prostheses. ARTIS“A bird that loses part of its beak loses much more than just a piece of its appearance,” Artis Zoo said on Facebook. “It meant that he could not take care of himself and could not pick up more difficult food from the ground.”Artis Zoo, one of the oldest in the world, founded in 1838, partnered with the Veterinary Medicine department at Utrecht University in the Netherlands to assist the young male bird.“Especially with a young bird that can still live to a very old age, we felt it was important to see if we could improve its quality of life,” the zoo said on its website.Although other birds have received one artificial beak, this is the first time two have been introduced.“There are previous cases of birds with one beak prosthesis, but as far as is known from the scientific literature, this is the first time worldwide that a bird gets both an upper and lower beak prosthesis,” the zoo explained on Instagram. The bird had broken both his upper and lower beaks. ARTISThe university used the broken parts of the hornbill’s original beak, coupled with a scan of his head and the remaining stumps, to design two prosthetics, which were attached during a surgery performed by Bjorn Meij and Lucinda van Stee from the university. The team feared the bird would not acclimate to his new beaks, given that he would not feel any sensation in it due to the plastic. “Our biggest concern was that he would become so upset that he would stop eating. That is why we had a clear plan B in advance. The prostheses are secured with screws and can be removed again if necessary,” the zoo explained. But on the same day of the operation, the bird was already using his new beak.“Of course, he had to get used to the shape and the extra weight, but he actually looked comfortable right away,” the zoo said.“The next morning, he was already picking up a mouse from the ground again. That same day, he ate independently with his new beak.”Now, the zoo is closely monitoring the bird’s behavior with the prosthesis and has a plan in place in case it gets damaged.“We have also taken into account the possibility that a plastic beak part might break at some point. Therefore, spare parts are manufactured. Should it be necessary, we can replace a damaged prosthesis,” the zoo explained. “In addition, we want to investigate whether his behavior changes.”The Veterinary Medicine department at Utrecht University used the broken parts of the hornbill’s original beak, a scan of his head and the remaining stumps, to design two prosthetics. ARTISThe bird has a female partner, and the zoo is also monitoring her behavior.“And of course, we are curious how his partner reacts. We don’t yet know exactly how their mutual behavior will change. That will be interesting to follow,” it said. “Research has already been conducted into the behavior of the pair. It would be interesting to compare what he does differently or more often now with his new beak.”The zoo hopes it can welcome the couple’s babies in the future, with the help of the father’s new beak.“A well-functioning beak can also be important for mutual interaction and for caring for the young,” it said.

The Surprising Truth About Who Suffers More From Ghosting New

The Surprising Truth About Who Suffers More From Ghosting

See more of our coverage in your search results. Few pitfalls of modern relationships are more confounding than being ghosted — but new research suggests that those who ghost may suffer most.Ghosting, the act of disappearing on a partner without warning, is a full-scale epidemic. A  recent survey revealed that 75% of people have been ghosted. Valerii Honcharuk – stock.adobe.comFor the victim, ghosting often leads to confusion, distress, and a kind of emotional purgatory, as the person being ignored wonders whether the relationship is over, they did something to deserve their exile, or something catastrophic has happened to the person who has suddenly gone no-contact.In Psychology Today, Dr. Jennice Vilhauer writes that ghosting inhibits our ability to process. “Ghosting gives you no cue for how to react,” said Vilhauer. “It creates the ultimate scenario of ambiguity. Should you be worried? What if they are hurt and lying in a hospital bed somewhere? Should you be upset? Maybe they are just a little busy and will be calling you at any moment. You don’t know how to react because you don’t really know what has happened.”However, researchers have recently discovered that people who perform this cruel disappearing act are often beset with guilt, shame and remorse. In many instances, the ‘ghosters’ reported feeling genuinely conflicted and remorseful about their behavior. Personality and Social Psychology BulletinTo understand who ghosting truly haunts, a joint research team from Cambridge and the University of California explored the phenomenon through three studies covering lived experiences, imagined situations, and live digital interactions.“We find that people who are ghosted underestimate how bad their conversation partners feel about ghosting them,” study authors wrote in the journal Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.“Overall, this research provides a window into the overlooked pain of ghosting others,” they added.Across all three studies, researchers found that the person who gets ghosted often assumes the person who cut off contact did so because they didn’t care or had moved on with someone else.Researchers found that a minimal message, something as simple as “sorry, can’t talk,” went a long way in reducing the misunderstanding and mitigating hard feelings. Ilona – stock.adobe.comHowever, in many instances, the “ghosters” reported feeling genuinely conflicted and remorseful about their behavior.“People who ghost others may experience guilt and even depressive symptoms consistent with the idea that hurting others can hurt oneself,” wrote the study authors. This proved particularly true when said ghosting was accidental and triggered by distraction, delayed response time, or abject forgetfulness. Further, researchers found that a minimal message, something as simple as “sorry, can’t talk,” went a long way toward reducing the misunderstanding and mitigating hard feelings.“At a time when romantic, social, and professional communication increasingly occurs online, and ghosting is the easiest form of rejection, it is important to understand when and why people ghost and their feelings about doing it,” they concluded. Researchers hope their findings will help people adopt simple intervention strategies, better understand how conversation partners feel about responses, and navigate everyday communication with more efficacy and empathy.

Jenna Dewan's Fiancé Speaks Out After Val Chmerkovskiy's DWTS Suspension New

Jenna Dewan's Fiancé Speaks Out After Val Chmerkovskiy's DWTS Suspension

Jenna Dewan's fiancé Steve Kazee is rallying around her in light of her Dancing With the Stars professional partner Val Chmerkovskiy's suspension from the show. "Everytime I think I can't love you more, your grace, your class and your heart prove me wrong, " Steve, 50, captioned a photo of Jenna from DWTS' "Super Bowl Night" on Saturday, October 17, via his Instagram Stories. "You got this baby! We got you!" The Tony Award-winning actor — who has frequently championed Jenna throughout the competition thus far — spoke out hours after Dancing With the Stars producers officially benched Val, 40, from performing with the Rookie actress on "Dedication Night" on Tuesday, October 20. Jenna will now partner with Giada De Laurentiis' former pro Alan Bersten for a Viennese waltz in honor of her mother, Nancy Bursch. Controversy erupted earlier this week when Val took issue with DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba calling out a lift that his wife and fellow pro, Jenna Johnson, used in her samba with Harry Shum Jr. on "Super Bowl Night." “A lift is — I just need to say it — any movement during which one of the dancers has both feet off the floor at the same time with the assistance or support of their partner,” Carrie Ann, 58, pointed out in her evaluation. Val took issue with Carrie Ann's feedback in several social media posts, including writing in a now-deleted message, "You almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night.” (His joke referenced an infamous moment at the 2022 Oscars when Will Smith walked on stage and slapped presenter Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.) His social media comment sparked an uproar, with Carrie Ann herself incredulously asking via her Instagram Story on Thursday, October 15, if "this is what we are doing now?" While Val subsequently apologized, a spokesperson for DWTS' production company, BBC Studios, announced on Saturday that the pro will have to sit out the next live show. “The well-being of everyone who works on Dancing with the Stars is non-negotiable,” a BBC Studios rep told Us in a statement. “Val’s social media post was inappropriate and does not reflect the values or standards expected of anyone connected with the show. As a result, he will not participate in next week’s show.” Val offered yet another public mea culpa on Saturday, confirming that he "won’t be in the ballroom this week" for "Dedication Night." "In a moment where my instinct was to defend my wife, I made a poor decision to reference a meme to ‘keep my wife’s name’ out of the conversation, without stopping to think through what else that reference could imply, which was genuinely never my intention,” he told Us in a statement. “Carrie Ann certainly didn’t deserve to get caught in the middle of my bad judgment, and I hate that she was.” The dancer added, "The last thing I want is to become a distraction from an important week or from the incredible work my dance partner Jenna Dewan is putting in. Please send Carrie Ann, Jenna, and the whole DWTS family lots of love during 'Dedication Night.' I’ll be watching and cheering everyone on!!” Carrie Ann has not responded to Val's suspension, as of publication. Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Ex-Husband's $4.8 Million House Deal Crumbles Amid Divorce Drama New

Ex-Husband's $4.8 Million House Deal Crumbles Amid Divorce Drama

5 days after my divorce became final, my ex-husband, his mother, and his new girlfriend tried to reserve a $4.8 million house. His mother confidently handed over a black card for the $75,000 payment. Declined. Then I walked in, and one simple question exposed far more than they expected. When I met Adrian, Northline Analytics operated above a printing shop. He had 4 employees and a product he described so enthusiastically that I once missed my train listening.Neither of us came from money. I admired his ambition, and when we married, I didn’t mind that my salary covered most of our expenses.“We’re allowed to have different seasons,” I told him.“When this works,” he promised, “I’m going to spoil you.”Over the next several years, I became global chief financial officer at Halcyon Meridian Group. My compensation increased, and investments I had made before our marriage matured.Northline grew, but its expenses often outpaced its revenue.I bought a minority stake with personal funds and later provided bridge loans. My accountant insisted on written agreements and repayment schedules.“Nothing says romance like a promissory note,” Adrian joked.“It’s a business loan.”He signed.I also gave a limited personal guarantee for a fixed-term company credit facility.Helping him felt like supporting our future. Eventually, however, my help became something he counted on without asking.Adrian carried a supplementary card on my personal account. His mother, Vivian, received one when she needed extensive dental treatment.“I’ll cover it,” I told her. Then she used it for groceries, clothes, and vacations. When I questioned the spending, Adrian said, “She’s embarrassed about needing help. Please don’t make her account for everything.”I let it continue. At a family barbecue, I heard Vivian telling a cousin, “Adrian pays the bills. They use Natalie’s account for the benefits, and he settles everything with her.”He stood beside her, smiling.Later, I confronted him.“She thinks you reimburse me.”“I will when the company has some breathing room.”“Then tell her that.”“Does everything have to come with credit, Natalie?”Vivian knew my job title, but Adrian had a way of making it sound insignificant.“Natalie keeps the corporate machinery running,” he liked to say. “I’m the one taking the risks.”Meanwhile, I paid for her kitchen renovation, her birthday trip, and the flights she thanked her son for.I discovered the affair on a Thursday.Adrian claimed he was meeting investors. Walking past a restaurant after lunch, I saw him holding hands with Tessa Rowan, Northline’s strategic partnerships manager.I had met her at the company holiday party. Now he was tucking a strand of hair behind her ear with a tenderness I recognized.I took a photograph from the sidewalk and walked away. That evening, he brought home takeout.“How were your meetings?”“Exhausting. But Alder Peak is getting closer to investing.”His phone lit up with Tessa’s name.He turned it face down.Over the next 3 weeks, I reviewed my statements, our joint accounts, and the company reports available to me as a shareholder and lender.Hotels. Jewelry. A resort weekend he had described as an engineering retreat. Then I called Ruth Bennett, a family attorney.“What do you want?” she asked.“To be financially separate.”“Do you want his company?”“No. People work there who haven’t done anything to me.”We began separating the marriage, my shares, and Northline’s debts. We also reviewed the guarantee. I would honor the existing commitment, but I would not guarantee replacement borrowing. Then Vivian came to Sunday dinner. She mentioned seeing Tessa at a gala.“Such a lovely young woman. She understands Adrian’s work.”“What does that mean?” I asked.“Some people are better suited to certain lives.”Adrian and I had endured several unsuccessful rounds of fer:tility treatment. I had repeatedly asked Vivian to stop discussing it.She continued anyway.“Adrian wants a family. You have to consider whether this marriage can give him the future he wants.”I turned to him.“Do you agree with her?”He stared at his plate.“Natalie, this isn’t the time.”I waited for him to defend us.He reached for his water. The next morning, I told Ruth to proceed.Adrian called me impulsive. Then he suggested counseling. When I put the restaurant photograph on the table, he fell silent.“How long?”“It’s complicated.”“The length of time is a number.”I never received an answer I trusted. The divorce took months. My shares were independently valued and transferred to Adrian through the settlement, with their value offset against other assets. Northline confirmed its debts and agreed to a repayment schedule.I kept the house and paid Adrian the agreed amount for his interest. He received written notice that his supplementary card would be canceled when the divorce became final. I sent Vivian the same notice.Neither could reasonably claim surprise.During the final negotiations, my assistant confirmed a Saturday appointment at Hawthorne Ridge. Halcyon had invested in the developer, Westhaven Residential, and our team was reviewing its next construction phase.“Keep it on the calendar,” I said. The following Monday, the decree became final.I canceled both cards.Adrian called that afternoon.“My card isn’t working.”“That’s correct.”“I need it for a hotel next week.”“You knew the cancellation date.”“The company is in a transition.”“Then the company needs to arrange payment.”“You received your settlement,” I added when he continued arguing.“Most of that money is committed.”“That doesn’t make my account available.”“You’re enjoying this.”“No, Adrian. I’m finishing it.”Vivian had wanted a house at Hawthorne Ridge for months.Shortly before the divorce became final, Alder Peak completed its investment in Northline. Adrian sold none of his personal shares. The money belonged to the company. His mother had been allowed to believe it made him personally wealthy.Tessa later told me how that Saturday began.Vivian had pressured Adrian into arranging the showing. He told Tessa they were only looking and would discuss a purchase much later.Their tour began at 10:30. By the time they returned to the sales office, it was nearly 11:30—the time of my meeting.Daniel Price, the sales director, explained the refundable $75,000 reservation payment. It would hold the property briefly while the buyer submitted financial documentation.Cards were accepted for that temporary reservation. The eventual contract deposit and closing funds required bank transfers.“We should take the paperwork home,” Adrian said.Vivian opened her handbag.“We’ve seen enough.”She put the black card on Daniel’s desk.Adrian leaned toward her.“Mom, put that away. We’re not making a payment today.”“It’s refundable. I’ll make it.”Daniel paused.Vivian pushed the card closer.“Please go ahead.”Adrian sat back, unwilling to explain his objection in front of Tessa.Declined.Vivian insisted there must be a mistake and requested another attempt.Declined again.“Call the bank,” she told Adrian. He finally spoke.“The card was canceled on Monday.”Her expression changed.“Natalie sent me something, but you said the financial arrangements were handled.”“They are. We don’t have access to her account anymore.”“Then use yours.”He didn’t move.“But you paid the balance on this one.”Silence.“You paid Natalie back, didn’t you?”“Mom—”“You told me you settled everything.”“I intended to.”That was when I walked in.Daniel greeted me in the lobby.“Ms. Mercer. Your team is in the west conference room.”Then I saw Vivian through the consultation-room door. The canceled card lay on the desk.Adrian stood.“What are you doing here?”“A construction review.”Vivian looked toward my waiting colleagues.“Halcyon is involved in this development?”“Yes.”She knew my position. What she rarely saw was other people treating it as important without Adrian explaining it away.Daniel excused himself after I introduced Adrian as my former husband.Vivian looked at me.“He didn’t reimburse you? Even for my dental treatment?”“I offered that as a gift.”“And the kitchen?”“I paid for it.”“He said he took care of it.”“He arranged the contractors.”She turned toward her son.“That isn’t what you told me.”Tessa spoke next.“He said you kept separate finances. That he covered the house and helped you when you changed jobs.”“My promotion?”She nodded.“My income paid most of our household expenses,” I said. “It had for years.”“What about Northline?” Vivian asked.“The company has customers and outside investors. I also provided personal financing.”Tessa looked sharply at Adrian.“Loans you said were repaid.”“The investment addressed our financing needs.”“You said Natalie had been paid back.”“There’s a repayment schedule.”“That’s different.”Vivian reached for the property brochure.“Then we’ll arrange the reservation another way.”“No,” Adrian said. “I can’t afford this house.”“You just closed the investment.”“The company did.”“Then take your share.”“I didn’t sell any shares. There’s no personal payout.”For years, he had spoken about company valuations as though they were money he could spend. Now his mother wanted him to spend it.I checked my watch.“I need to join my meeting.”Adrian followed me into the hallway.“You could have warned her.”“I did.”“She didn’t understand.”“You understood.”He lowered his voice.“Did you have to answer every question?”“She asked who paid.”“You knew how that would make me look.”For years, I had softened facts to protect him. He still expected it.“I’m not responsible for what you told her.”“You act like everything I built belongs to you.”“You built a product and found customers. Those things are real.”“Then why are you doing this?”“I came to a meeting. You came to look at a house you couldn’t afford.”His face flushed.“Tessa isn’t with me for money.”“I didn’t say she was.”“She loves me.”“Then tell her the truth.”I went into the conference room.I never called Northline’s investors or demanded immediate repayment. The company kept to its schedule. When its existing credit facility matured and was repaid, my guarantee ended. Without my assets supporting the replacement loan, the new facility was smaller.Northline reduced travel, moved to a cheaper office, and abandoned projects that lost money.Adrian’s personal spending changed too. Without my income supporting his lifestyle, he sold his expensive car and canceled his club memberships.I expected another emergency call.Instead, Northline hired an experienced finance director and began producing more predictable results. The company didn’t collapse without me.Adrian started making decisions he had postponed while I absorbed the cost.Tessa contacted me 2 months after the showroom incident.“He told me you were separated,” she said during the phone call I eventually agreed to.“When?”She gave me a date when Adrian and I had still been discussing another fer:tility consultation.“We weren’t.”“What about the holiday party?” I asked.“He said you were maintaining appearances until the lawyers finished. Vivian told me the marriage had been over for months.”I remembered Sunday dinner. His mother had known enough to help him. After the showroom, Tessa had begun asking questions about dates, debts, and promises. His answers kept changing. She accepted another job and ended their relationship.“I’m sorry I believed a version of you that made what we were doing easier to justify,” she said.“Thank you for saying that.”I couldn’t offer more.Vivian’s messages arrived separately.First, she accused me of em:barrassing her. Then she blamed Adrian. Finally, she claimed she had always respected me.I answered once. You helped him tell another woman our marriage was over while I was still trying to save it. Then you sat at my table and suggested I had failed him. I need distance. Please respect that. She stopped messaging.More than a year later, an industry newsletter reported that Northline had secured another investment after stronger sales and lower costs.Adrian was quoted discussing financial discipline.I hoped he meant it.His company’s next payment arrived on time. The following spring, I sold the house and bought a smaller place beside a lake, keeping an apartment near my office. On my first weekend there, I carried dinner onto the deck.My phone lit up.For a moment, I expected an urgent transfer, a declined payment, another promise Adrian needed me to finance. It was a friend. How’s the new place?I sent her a photograph of the water.Peaceful.People liked the showroom story. They wanted to know how Vivian looked when the card failed. But the moment that changed my life happened earlier, at my dining table, when I asked my husband whether he agreed with his mother.I had waited for him to answer.Eventually, I stopped waiting. When the light faded over the lake, I carried my plate inside and left my phone on the kitchen counter. There was nothing I needed to fix before bed.

Carrot Top's Emotional Message After Hospitalization Shocks Fans New

Carrot Top's Emotional Message After Hospitalization Shocks Fans

Comedian Scott “Carrot Top” Thompson is speaking out after his hospitalization for an alleged suicide attempt. “I’m truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, prayers, and well wishes I’ve received over the past couple of weeks,” Thompson, 61, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, October 17, publicly commenting on his health issue for the first time. “Every message, text, and kind thought has meant more to me than you know,” the comedian continued in the post. “While I haven’t been able to respond to everyone individually, please know that I’ve felt your love and appreciate each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for being there for me during this time. It truly means the world to me.” Thompson ended his post — which was accompanied by a picture featuring the comedian performing on stage — by highlighting his upcoming Las Vegas show at the famed Luxor Hotel & Casino on Monday, October 19. Thompson was hospitalized in Las Vegas after the incident, which has been widely reported as a suicide attempt. As a result, several of his comedy shows were subsequently canceled. (Carrot Top has headlined a residency at Las Vegas’ Luxor Casino since 2005.) https://www.instagram.com/p/DemtM3nN6e2/ “Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs,” Thompson’s rep Jami Schlicher said in a statement shortly after the incident. “His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy.” Two days after his hospitalization, Schlicher gave an update on Thompson’s condition. “Scott remains hospitalized and under close medical care,” Schlicher told Entertainment Weekly in a September 20 statement. “He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him.” The statement continued at the time, “Humor has always been such an important part of who Scott is and how he connects with people, and that remains true today as he shares moments of humor with the medical staff caring for him. Many messages from fans have been shared with Scott, including stories from people about how his comedy helped them through difficult periods in their own lives.” A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department report, obtained by Us on September 25, detailed what allegedly occurred when police responded to a medical dispatch call about an alleged suicidal male at Thompson’s Las Vegas home on September 18 at 4:21pm. According to the report, Daniel O’Leary — who described himself as Thompson’s tour manager — was at the scene and stated that a news article broke at approximately 3:20pm covering a lawsuit that was filed against Thompson, accusing him of sexual misconduct. O’Leary described Thompson’s behavior as upset, claiming the comedian made comments expressing his concern that his shows were going to be canceled in the wake of the allegations. Thompson told him that he hoped a female third party (who was redacted in the report) and her daughter “would be okay” without him. Thompson subsequently hung up before texting O’Leary one word — “done.” Per the report, O’Leary was not able to reach Thompson after this text message. O’Leary then called the female and informed her about the article and their conversation and asked her to go check on Thompson. She “arrived at the residence and observed the doors open to the home.” After looking for Thompson, the woman eventually located Thompson “in the backyard, next to the pool, unconscious.” According to her statement, the woman then “ immediately called for help.” If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available.
