Shockwaves in Wrestling: Did a Piledriver Lead to Tragedy? New

Shockwaves in Wrestling: Did a Piledriver Lead to Tragedy?

Professional wrestler El Hilo de Fishman has been arrested and faces a potential manslaughter charge after a move he executed during a match resulted in the death of a referee. The incident occurred in Hidalgo, Mexico on Wednesday, October 7, when Fishman, 36, performed a preplanned piledriver on referee Gerardo German Pineda, known as El Buho. A piledriver is a pro wrestling move in which an individual turns someone upside down and slams them head-first into the mat. Pineda, 75, went into the mat and never got back up, according to Cageside Seats. Reports from the event indicate that he was not immediately helped because fans and event workers thought he was feigning injury as part of the stunt. When paramedics eventually arrived, the referee was pronounced dead at the scene. Because of the potential dangers of the move, the piledriver has often been banned in WWE and other wrestling promotions. Fishman is now in the custody of the Hidalgo State Attorney General’s Office, according to Spanish language wrestling outlet Super Luchas. His arrest opened a 48-hour window during which he must be presented to a judge for a hearing that will determine if he can be formally charged. If charged and convicted, he could face five to 15 years in prison. Mexican wrestling promotion El Patron Lucha Libre released a statement on Wednesday confirming the “unfortunate events.” “Our company is attentive to the developing situation and has arranged accompaniment and legal assistance for Hijo de Fishman, so that the corresponding process is carried out in accordance with the law and before the competent authorities,” the statement read. The statement continued, “The lawyer and legal representative of the company maintains contact with the family of Mr. Gerardo Germán Pineda, ‘El Búho’, and with his legal representatives, to handle the case in the best way and guarantee respect for all parties involved.” The promotion added that with the legal process ongoing, it would not provide additional information that could “interfere with or prejudice the facts.” “We ask the fans, media and members of the guild to act with prudence, discretion and respect, and avoid the spread of rumors or unconfirmed information, so as not to hinder the investigations and out of respect for all parties involved and their families,” it continued. The statement concluded, “We deeply regret the loss of a life and express our solidarity with his family, friends and colleagues in the wrestling business.”

The Herb Mix-Up: Why Cilantro and Parsley Confuse Shoppers New

The Herb Mix-Up: Why Cilantro and Parsley Confuse Shoppers

The Great Green Mystery: Which One is Cilantro?Have you ever stood in the produce aisle of the grocery store, staring blankly at two nearly identical bundles of green leaves? You look left, you look right, and you ask yourself the ultimate culinary question: “Is this cilantro, or am I about to ruin my homemade salsa with parsley?”If you have ever felt this sudden wave of grocery store anxiety, you are definitely not alone. In fact, a popular internet meme claims that 90% of people get this wrong! While that number might be a little dramatic, it is absolutely true that cilantro and flat-leaf parsley look like long-lost identical twins.Today, let’s go on a little green adventure to explore these two herbs. We will look at their shapes, their unique personalities, and how you can become a master herb-detective.Why Are They So Hard to Tell Apart? To understand why they look like clones, we have to look at their family tree. Both cilantro and parsley belong to the Apiaceae family. This botanical family also includes celery, carrots, and fennel.Because they are cousins, they grow in very similar ways. They both feature thin, tender green stems that explode into small, flat, serrated leaves at the top. When they are neatly tied up in rubber bands and misted with water at the supermarket, telling them apart just by walking past them is almost impossible. But don’t worry! Once you know what to look for, they actually have very different identities. How to Be an Herb Detective: The Visual CluesIf you don’t want to look like you are stealing a snack in the middle of the store, you can start by using your eyes. There are subtle visual differences in their leaves:The Leaf Shape: One of these herbs has rounded, curved leaves that look a bit like little gentle fans or clouds. The serrations (the ridges on the edges) are soft and smooth. The other herb has pointier, triangular leaves. The edges are much more jagged and sharp, looking like miniature jagged stars or arrows. The Color: If you look closely under the bright supermarket lights, you might notice a slight color difference. One tends to be a bright, yellowish-green, while the other leans toward a deeper, darker, and glossier green. The Ultimate Test: Trust Your NoseIf your eyes are playing tricks on you, it is time to bring out the secret weapon: the sniff test. Gently pinch a leaf of the herb between your fingers to release the essential oils and take a deep breath. This is where the two herbs instantly lose their identical-twin status because they smell completely different! The First Smell Profile: One herb smells incredibly fresh, bright, and citrusy, with a strong hint of lime. It has a sharp, pungent aroma that immediately makes you think of fresh tacos, spicy curries, or vibrant guacamole. The Second Smell Profile: The other herb has a much more grounded, subtle personality. It smells earthy, clean, and mildly peppery. It smells like a fresh backyard garden after a spring rain. It doesn’t scream for attention; instead, it promises to quietly make your soups and pastas taste richer. The Soap ControversyWe can’t talk about cilantro without mentioning one of the funniest mysteries in human genetics. Have you ever cooked a beautiful meal with cilantro for a friend, only for them to look at you in horror and say, “This tastes like dish soap”?They aren’t just being picky! Scientists discovered that some people possess a specific olfactory receptor gene called OR6A2. This gene makes them highly sensitive to chemical compounds called aldehydes, which are found in both cilantro and—you guessed it—soap. So, if cilantro tastes like laundry detergent to you, blame your DNA! Parsley, on the other hand, is a crowd-pleaser and never gets accused of tasting like cleaning supplies. The Big Reveal: Which One is Which? Now that we have explored their shapes, scents, and science, let’s look back at the image and solve the mystery. Are you ready to see if you belong to the elite group of grocery shoppers who get it right?Number 1 is Cilantro! Notice the gently rounded leaves, the softer edges, and the slightly lighter green color. This is the star of your Mexican and Asian dishes.Number 2 is Flat-Leaf Parsley (also known as Italian Parsley). Notice the pointier, triangular leaf tips and the slightly darker, glossier texture. This is the Mediterranean staple perfect for pasta, stews, and garnishes.Happy Cooking! The next time you find yourself in the grocery store, you can approach the herb display with total confidence. No more guessing games, no more accidental salsa disasters, and no more awkward standing around. Just look for the curves, give it a quick pinch, and enjoy adding some fresh, green magic to your next meal!

Bre Tiesi's Bold Ultimatum to Nick Cannon: No More Kids or I'm Out! New

Bre Tiesi's Bold Ultimatum to Nick Cannon: No More Kids or I'm Out!

Bre Tiesi only has one dealbreaker for one dealbreaker with her boyfriend, father of 12 Nick Cannon. "I've always said, we agree on the twin flame thing, we really vibe. He is my partner. I really think he is my life partner," Tiesi, 35, revealed on the Tuesday, October 6, episode of Angela Yee's "Lip Service" podcast. "I genuinely love this man. We have a great relationship. I love our family regardless of everything else. Everything else, that's not really my problem. I see it being long term." As for that dealbreaker, the Selling Sunset alum made it clear that she is not in favor of Cannon, 46, becoming a 13-time dad. "If it ever happens, then I might be out," she declared. "If he has another baby, I'm out of here. No more!" Tiesi joked that there's "only so much time in a day" so Cannon is already spreading himself pretty thin with his parenting duties. (Tiesi and Cannon share 4-year-old son Legendary Love.) "There's so many kids. There's so much going on," she pointed out. "Like, if you're already all over the place, how the hell are you going to add another [one]? I don't even want to add another one!" Tiesi went on to say, "I feel the guilt of not having enough time, having a career. You've got The Brady Bunch. We're not doing 13!" The model assured Yee, 50, that she's taking precautions on her end to ensure that she won't get pregnant again. "Never again, never," she vowed. "It's a no. I'm a one and done." In addition to son Legendary Love, Cannon shares shares twins Moroccan and Monroe, 15, with his ex-wife Mariah Carey; son Golden Sagon, 9, daughter Powerful Queen, 5, and son Rise Messiah, 3, with model Brittany Bell; twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, 5, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, 3, with influencer Abby De La Rosa; daughter Halo, 3, with model Alyssa Scott and daughter Onyx, 3, with The Price Is Right alum LaNisha Cole. (Cannon and Scott’s eldest child, son Zen, died of brain cancer at 5 months old in 2021.) Cannon recently reflected on being a dad to 12 children in an exclusive interview with Us, revealing it may have been his "destiny" to have such a large family. "People have been digging in the archives to hear my interviews from, like, 20 years ago, and I did. I was like, 'Yo, I want 12 kids.' I spoke it into existence," he declared. "I come from a big, nontraditional, unorthodox family. My parents were teenagers when they had me, so my grandparents had a lot of influence on me. My grandmother was a foster mother, so I had hundreds of foster brothers and sisters growing up and learned how to take care of babies. It was always in me. I’m also a big kid at heart. It’s definitely part of my destiny." Asked whether he wants baby No. 13, Cannon teased, "Right now, 12 is good. I’m in the car line every day, and there’s basketball, karate, jujitsu, tap, piano, guitar… We come from a different generation; we were latchkey kids, and we had to take care of ourselves." "I don’t remember my dad or mom being at my recitals," he added. "My mom was working three jobs and my dad lived across the country. So I take that stuff very seriously." Tiesi offered a different take on Cannon's large brood, revealing to E!’s Hot Goss hosts Eyal Booker and Lonnie Marts IIV in September that she's not particularly close with any of the other moms. “I would love to embrace them more, but the relationships with the mothers are, unfortunately, too difficult to do so,” she said. “We’ve attempted. I think that I’ve tried every which way and I know how I am, and I’m like, ‘Girl, please don’t take me there because we’ll never come back from here.’” The real estate agent ultimately chose to "remove" herself from any interpersonal relationships with the other mothers for the betterment of their children. "It’s not my responsibility, to be entirely honest," she stressed. "Nick has to step up, and he has to make an environment and support the children."

Of course, most Americans don't actually believe they are going to get a 'Trump Dividend' anyway, but let's see what the latest is, shall we? Donald Trump's 'Trump Dividends' have been controversial It's well documented that Donald Trump likes to promise things that he perhaps thinks people won't remember. He said that his tariffs were such a huge success that he was going to give almost all Americans $2,000 at one point, remember? That seems to have been a little bit lost in the weeds since then, as loads of people have questioned where it is , whether it was ever possible in the first place, whether it would be a good idea to be doling out checks like that, or whether it is actually a bad idea . Then, in what has been termed by some as a cheap attempt to curry favor ahead of the midterm elections, he promised that he'd be giving $5,000 checks out - yet more evidence of how successful his tariffs have supposedly been. But, once again, there's been some confusion - this time it could affect millions of people. First up, Donald Trump's plan is entirely contingent on him and the Republicans winning the midterm elections, so often a snap judgement call on how a party is doing in government. Giving away $5,000 checks to millions would be a popular move to many voters, so some have interpreted it as tantamount to bribery. It was back on September 9 when Trump announced the bold dividend plans, stating: "If the Republicans win, you win with us and you get $5,000, Then, on his beloved Truth Social, he wrote: "The highly popular $5,000 Trump Dividend will be distributed to every U.S. Citizen if, and when, the Republicans win the Midterm Elections!" That was as recently as last week. Then, on that same day in Alabama, Trump announced that the dividends would be paid to ' all adult citizens '. So, which one is it? Credit: Anna Moneymaker/Getty Trump's dividend numbers don't add up There are currently around 343 million citizens in the USA, meaning that giving every one of them $5,000 would cost around $1.7 trillion. If that number was limited to just adult citizens, it would mean that around 270 million checks are to go out, which is 73 million less, but still clocks in around the $1.3 trillion mark. So, which one is it? In reality, most US citizens appear to believe it is neither. Only a few Americans believe they'll get a Trump Dividend According to Economist and YouGov polls, a vanishingly small number of actual voters believe they'll get the money from Trump. 61% said Trump would never follow through, compared to 21% who said he would. 45% of people polled did not support the plan anyway, compared to 43% who did. Part of this has to be down to the fact that Americans have heard such pledges from Trump before. The $2,000 stuff has gone pretty quiet, hasn't it? As has discussion of the 'DOGE Dividend' from Elon Musk's cost-cutting at government level. When asked to clarify where the government is at on the issue, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said that the President 'has consistently proven his doubters wrong' and added that 'with the continued support of the American people, President Trump will keep delivering real results.' We'll have to see if this latest pledge becomes reality - if Trump wins the midterm elections, anyway.

Why DWTS' Carrie Ann Inaba Stands Firm Amid Jenna and Val Chemistry Buzz New

Why DWTS' Carrie Ann Inaba Stands Firm Amid Jenna and Val Chemistry Buzz

Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba is coming to the defense of season 35 partners Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy. “Dancers are physical beings. This is like the way we say hello,” Inaba, 58, wrote via the comments section of a creator’s Instagram post. “Don't try to turn it into something it is not. Have some respect for both Jenna and Val and their partners please.” Inaba’s comments come after some fans on social media claimed Dewan, 45, and Chmerkovskiy, 40, were inappropriately intimate given their respective relationships with her fiancé, Steve Kazee, and his wife and fellow DWTS pro, Jenna Johnson. Kazee, for his part, also defended Dewan and Chmerkovskiy in the comments section of the same post, writing, "They don’t have chemistry. They have too much chemistry. They have chemistry in the wrong places. Make up your minds. Y’all really got too much time on your hands. the spouses are unbothered stay hatin.” He continued, “Also put some respect on my queens name and at least pronounce her name correctly when you try to slander her .” Days prior, Dewan and Chmerkovskiy stepped out onto the ballroom for Mariah Carey Night and performed a rumba to “My All.” The pair earned a combined score of 24 out of 30 from Inaba and fellow judges Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli, and were ultimately safe from elimination. (DWTS said goodbye to Summer House’s Ciara Miller and pro Brandon Armstrong at the end of the episode.) "I keep saying that I knew it would be hard. I knew that would be a physically challenging situation. I didn't realize how emotionally and mentally tough the whole process is too," Dewan exclusively told Us after the episode on Tuesday, October 6. "But it's a good tough." Dewan, however, has enjoyed how the experience “challenges” her. "That's why you feel so alive while doing this,” she added. “It's all the good things, but with that comes all the colors. All the shades." Chmerkovskiy, for his part, is proud of Dewan’s progress over the weeks. "I've seen her confidence be humbled week after week. She was humble already," he shared. "That's part of the game. I think it's important to have a little bit of an ego cleanse and have a little bit of a struggle." He continued, "It makes moments like tonight that much more triumphant and makes me that much more proud of us. Because without that hardship, you're not gonna ever enjoy the true nectar of the fruits of your labor. We really labored for the last month and a half and tonight was the culmination of that." Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Truck Driver's Unexpected Encounter That Changed Everything New

Truck Driver's Unexpected Encounter That Changed Everything

I stopped for a stranded family during a storm and paid to have their car towed. The father shook my hand before they left. By morning, my boss had written me up for the delay. Two weeks later, he called me into his office. The same man was sitting across from his desk.My name is Caleb. I drove overnight freight for Northstar Transport, usually between Indiana and Chicago. That night, I had a sealed trailer of electronics due at a warehouse by 7:00 a.m.I had allowed enough time for the trip. Then the rain came.It blurred the lane markings and turned headlights into bright smears across my windshield. Water collected in the grooves of the highway, pulling at my tires. I slowed down and kept both hands on the wheel.I could already imagine what my supervisor would say.Grant Sloane ran our dispatch office. He treated every delay as a driver’s mistake, even when a highway had closed or a truck needed repairs. Before I left the yard, he had pointed at the delivery time on my paperwork.“7:00 a.m., Caleb. The customer complained about our last shipment.”“I’ll get there as safely as I can.”“Get there on time.”I needed the hours Grant assigned me. My daughter, Molly, needed braces, and my wife, Nora, had been taking extra shifts at the pharmacy to help us pay for them. So I had nodded, climbed into my cab, and headed out.At 2:00 a.m., I saw a dark SUV on the shoulder. Its hazard lights blinked through the rain, and a man stood beside it waving both arms. The vehicle was close enough to the right lane that passing trucks rocked it.I checked my mirrors and moved left. For a few seconds, I planned to keep going. I couldn’t tow a car with an 18-wheeler, and stopping a loaded truck on the shoulder had risks of its own. Then my headlights crossed the SUV’s windows. A woman sat in the passenger seat. A little girl in the back held a flashlight against her chest.I found a wider stretch of shoulder ahead, pulled over, and put on my hazards. The man hurried toward me as I walked back through the rain.“Our engine quit,” he shouted. “Neither of our phones will connect.”“Get inside with your family,” I said. “You’re too close to traffic. I’ll call for help.”He looked past me at my truck. “You don’t have to stay.”“I’m going to make the calls first.”Inside my cab, I had a weak signal. I reached the highway patrol and gave them the location. Then I called a roadside service I’d used on another run. The dispatcher found a flatbed with a crew cab large enough to take the family, but warned me that the weather could delay it for an hour. She asked for a card to authorize the callout. I gave her mine.Next I called Northstar’s overnight dispatch line. Nobody answered, so I left a message. I sent Grant a text with my location and told him I was waiting for patrol and a tow.His reply came almost immediately.Keep moving. You’re behind schedule.I wrote back, There’s a child in the car. They’re close to the travel lane. I’ll leave when help gets here.I watched the 3 dots appear on my screen.Miss that delivery, and you may have cost yourself your job.I read it twice. Then I put my phone away and walked back to the SUV.The man opened his door a few inches. “Did you get through?”“Patrol’s coming. So is a tow truck.”The woman beside him let out a breath and reached back to touch the little girl’s hand.“I’m Adrian Bell,” the man said.“Caleb Mercer.”He reached out to shake my hand. His fingers were cold. The girl leaned forward between the seats. “Are you taking our car?”“I can’t fit it in my truck,” I told her. “A driver with the right truck is coming.”“Is his better?”“For this job? Much better.”Her mother smiled. “Poppy, let him get out of the rain.”“I’ll be in my truck,” I said. “I can see you from there.”Adrian told me they were heading home to Chicago from his sister’s house in Indianapolis. They had waited for an earlier storm to pass before leaving, but another had caught them on the highway. When the SUV lost power, he had barely managed to get it onto the shoulder.A passing truck sent spray against his door. He closed it, and I returned to my cab to watch their vehicle in my mirrors while staying with my trailer. The highway patrol officer arrived about 20 minutes later. She parked behind the SUV with her lights flashing and stayed with the family. When the tow truck finally came, the operator loaded the SUV onto his flatbed and confirmed he could take Adrian, his wife, and Poppy to a motel near the next exit.Adrian took out his wallet.“The callout’s covered,” the operator told him.Adrian turned to me. “Caleb, I can pay for our own tow.”“You can get me back later,” I said, though I had no intention of asking. The operator handed me the receipt. Adrian asked for my number, but his family was cold and exhausted, and the tow truck was ready to leave. I gave him the receipt instead.“My name’s on there if you need anything,” I said. “Get them somewhere warm.”He looked down at it, then shook my hand again. “Thank you.”Poppy pressed her palm against the tow truck’s window as it pulled alongside my cab. I waved and waited until they had reached the exit before returning to the highway.I delivered the shipment at 8:26 a.m.The warehouse crew checked the seal, unloaded the trailer, and signed my paperwork. The load was intact. One of the receivers said several trucks were running late because of the storm.Grant was waiting when I got back to the yard.“You stopped for over an hour,” he said.“I told you why.”“I told you to keep moving.”“The car was close to the lane. Patrol came, and a licensed operator towed it.”“Your trailer had a delivery appointment.” Grant pointed toward his office. “Come in and sign the warning.”The form called my stop an unauthorized delay. I signed to acknowledge that I had received it, then added a note stating that I had reported my location, contacted highway patrol, and stayed with my truck until the family was safe.During the next 2 weeks, my assigned hours dropped. When I asked Grant about it, he told me those were the routes available.Nora and I went over our expenses again at the kitchen table. I told her about the warning and showed her Grant’s message.“I know why you’re worried,” she said.“I’d make the same stop again. I just don’t know what happens if he keeps cutting my hours.”She reached across the table and took my hand. “We’ll deal with what he does. You got them off that road.”Two weeks after the storm, Grant called me at the end of a shift and told me to come to his office.Northstar’s general manager, Denise Kwan, was there. So was Adrian Bell.He stood when I entered.“Caleb,” he said. “Poppy wanted me to tell you her flashlight still works.”I smiled, surprised to see him. “How’s the car?”“New alternator and battery. Everyone made it home.”Denise offered me a chair. Adrian had a folder on his lap, and when he opened it, I recognized the name printed at the top of the first page.Bellcrest Electronics. It was the company whose shipment I had carried that night.“I founded Bellcrest,” Adrian said. “Your truck was taking our products to our Chicago warehouse.”I looked at Grant. He kept his eyes on the desk.Adrian went on. “I remembered the Northstar name on your truck, and the tow receipt had your name. Once we were home, I called your office because I wanted to thank you and make sure the stop hadn’t caused trouble.”He had given the person answering the phone only his first name and asked to speak with Caleb’s supervisor. Grant had taken the call.“I told him how much we appreciated his driver staying with us,” Adrian said. “Then I asked if Caleb had been penalized for being late.”Grant shifted in his chair.“You told me he’d been written up,” Adrian said to him. “You didn’t know I was a Bellcrest customer. I contacted Denise afterward and asked her to look into it.”Denise laid several pages on the desk: my text exchange with Grant, the overnight dispatch message, my delivery record, and the warning.“The receiving team confirmed the trailer arrived sealed and undamaged,” she said. “They also confirmed they were able to unload it when Caleb arrived. We’ve verified the roadside stop with highway patrol.”Grant leaned forward. “He was responsible for a high-value load.”“He remained with the load and reported his location,” Denise said. “The warning leaves those facts out.”She turned to me. “We’re removing it from your record, Caleb. I’m sorry this took 2 weeks.”For a moment, I couldn’t think of anything to say. I had spent those 2 weeks checking my schedule each night and wondering how many hours I would get the next day.“Thank you,” I managed.“I also want to speak with you about your recent assignments,” Denise said. “We’ll do that after this meeting.”Adrian handed me an envelope.“Please let me repay you for the tow.”Inside was a check and a folded piece of paper. I opened the paper first.Poppy had drawn a blue truck beneath a sky filled with thick black lines of rain. Its headlights were 2 enormous yellow circles. Above it, she had written:Dear Mr. Caleb,Thank you for staying until help came. Mom said you were watching out for us. I hope you got home safe.Love, PoppyI folded the drawing carefully. “Tell her I did.”Adrian nodded. After the meeting, Denise reviewed my schedule. My regular hours were restored. She also spoke with other drivers about the instructions they had received from dispatch during delays and emergencies. Grant was taken off dispatch while the company examined those complaints.A few weeks later, Denise asked me to help train new drivers on reporting roadside emergencies. The position came with steadier hours and a raise. I talked it over with Nora and accepted.Poppy’s drawing stayed above the visor in my truck. I saw it when I left for a run, and sometimes, while parked at the end of one, I took it down and looked at those bright yellow headlights. They brought back the little girl at the SUV window, waiting in the rain with her flashlight, and the moment I knew I had to stop.

The Sneaky Modern Detail Everyone Missed in This 1960s Diner Scene

Hey everyone, welcome back to another fun visual puzzle!Today, we have a really cool challenge that will test your observation skills and your attention to detail.Take a close look at the picture on your screen right now.ScreenshotAt first glance, everything seems completely normal, doesn’t it?It looks like a beautiful classic American diner right out of the 1960s.You can see a friendly waitress in a pink and white uniform pouring hot coffee for a customer.A gentleman in a cozy brown jacket is sitting at the counter, ready to enjoy his afternoon break. There is a vintage jukebox resting in the corner, looking ready to play some sweet old-school music. You can also see classic black-and-white photos on the wall showing vintage cars and retro hairstyles. On the long green counter, there is a glass dome full of delicious donuts, along with sugar shakers, napkin holders, and ketchup bottles. The entire atmosphere feels warm, nostalgic, and full of vintage charm. However, there is a big mistake hidden somewhere in this picture. One specific item in this scene does not belong in the 1960s at all.It is a time-traveling object that was created much later in history.Your task today is to find that one out-of-place object before time runs out.Can you spot what is wrong in this picture?Let’s give you a quick moment to scan the image carefully from top to bottom.Look closely at the walls, check the jukebox, inspect the clothes, and look at everything sitting on the table.Did you spot anything strange yet?Take your time and inspect every little corner of the diner. If you need a few extra seconds, feel free to pause the video right here and search carefully.Alright, let me give you a small hint to help you out.Pay special attention to the items resting on top of the long green counter right in front of the customer.Look carefully near the coffee cup and saucer, right next to the red and yellow sauce bottles. Are you starting to see it now?Let me explain why one of these items stands out from everything else in the room.Back in the 1960s, people drank beverages from glass cups, soda fountains, or thick glass bottles.Mass-produced, disposable plastic water bottles with printed labels and screw-on caps did not exist back then. Now, look very closely right next to the white coffee cup on the counter.Sitting right there is a modern, single-use plastic water bottle! That clear plastic bottle with the blue cap and blue label is completely out of place!A plastic water bottle like that belongs in a modern convenience store today, not in a 1960s retro diner. So, the correct answer to today’s puzzle is the modern plastic water bottle sitting on the counter.Did you manage to spot it right away, or did it take you a few moments to notice?Let me know in the comments below how fast you found the hidden mistake!Thank you so much for playing along with us today. If you enjoyed this fun brain teaser, don’t forget to hit the like button and subscribe for more everyday visual puzzles.See you in the next challenge!

Why Sexually Transmitted Diarrhea Is Becoming a Drug-Resistant Threat New

Why Sexually Transmitted Diarrhea Is Becoming a Drug-Resistant Threat

See more of our coverage in your search results. You don’t have to be a pioneer on the Oregon Trail to catch the bug that causes dysentery.Nowadays, the infection is spreading more through sex — and evolving into something that’s “close to untreatable,” one expert said.Shigella bacteria infect nearly half a million people in the US every year — causing diarrhea with blood or mucus (the hallmark of a dysentery infection), stomach pain, cramps, fever and vomiting.Scientists are learning more about why the disturbing disease is spreading so quickly, and why it’s developing a resistance to treatment. Shigella infections can cause bloody and mucus-filled diarrhea. Kawee – stock.adobe.comSpreading through sexShigella is a nasty illness that causes more than uncomfortable doo-doos. It can become life-threatening by dehydrating and depleting bodily fluids including blood, causing bacterial and septic shock, neurological complications, and internal bleeding and infection. The bacteria spreads through infected poop that gets into the mouth because of ill-washed hands, or swallowing tainted food or water. A minuscule amount — as few as 10 organisms — is enough to get you sick. The population most likely to get infected are children under 5, who catch it at day care and schools from other kids who are just starting to learn about keeping themselves clean. Travelers to places where sanitation standards are lower, and people experiencing homelessness are also at higher risk. But the population that’s experiencing one of the fastest rises in shigella infection are gay and bisexual men, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM). Experts say shigella is “endemic” to these communities, meaning it’s constant and regularly present.A study in July showed that the spread of the disease through sex grew 15% faster year-over-year between 2015 and 2020 compared to spread through travel, food, or nursery outbreaks.Emerging evidence suggests that sex may even be the major route of transmission now, but it’s hard to tell when it’s not asked about when patients show up for medical care.Experts say many people don’t realize Shigella can spread through sex — and that lack of awareness may be fueling infections.“Many men who have sex with men are unaware of the serious and increasing risk posed by sexually transmitted Shigella,” said Cambridge geneticist Kate Baker, a lead author on the July study. Sex may be the primary way shigella is spreading today. Krakenimages.com – stock.adobe.comBecoming a superbugAs shigella spreads rapidly, it’s also becoming harder to manage. The CDC reports that drug-resistant strains of the infection skyrocketed from 0% in 2011 to 8.5% in 2023.“This disease has gone from being relatively treatable with off-the-shelf drugs to being close to untreatable over the course of the last decade or so,” Baker said. Why is this happening? Some experts believe “bystander resistance” might be at play. This happens when the wrong antibiotic is used for a pathogen, not only failing to kill the disease, but also accidentally giving the disease the opportunity to develop resistance to that antibiotic. The CDC reports that most drug-resistant shigella cases affected adult men. The strains of shigella spread through sex are serious. Research shows that those who contracted shigella through sex were hospitalized for four to five days, on average.“This isn’t just one form of sexually transmissible diarrhea,” Baker told Science Alert.“This is multiple overlapping variants emerging that are all quickly becoming resistant to the drugs we use to treat them. It’s highly likely that if you contracted your Shigella through sex, you require different treatment to someone who contracted it through travel.”Treating and preventing shigellaMany cases of shigella resolve on their own within a week, with the help of rest and fluids. But for serious infections, antibiotics might be used not only to shorten the illness but to reduce contagiousness, as well. This is becoming harder as the strains become more resistant to antiobiotics. That’s why the CDC is urging more attention and development of prevention strategies. They recommend: Washing hands, genitals, and anus with soap and water before and after sexual activity. This applies to everyone having anal, oral, and vaginal sex — not just men who have sex with men. Washing sex toys with soap and water Using barriers like condoms and dental dams The California Department of Public Health also adds simply, “don’t have sex with someone who has had diarrhea in the last two weeks.”

Son of Late NFL Player Jordan Devey's Emotional Plea After Tragic Loss New

Son of Late NFL Player Jordan Devey's Emotional Plea After Tragic Loss

The widow of late NFL player Jordan Devey emotionally recalled breaking the news of her husband’s death to the couple’s son, Cash.  Jordan died by suicide in July. He was 38.  “The day I told Cash his dad had gone home to Heaven, his world shattered,” Linsey Devey shared via Instagram last month. “He ran outside and let out a scream that no 11-year-old should ever have to carry.” Moments later, Linsey recalled Cash coming back inside with an urgent plea. “He wiped his tears, walked back to me, and with a strength I know came from Christ, said, ‘Mom, we can do this together. Don’t take your own life,’” she wrote. “In the middle of his deepest grief, he reminded me that we would not face it alone. I will never forget those words.” Linsey said her son has “always carried this quiet instinct to protect our family.” “He feels everything so deeply, but he rarely lets you see it because he thinks his job is to be strong for me…just like his dad,” she wrote. “He has Jordan’s heart. The same kindness. The same compassion. The same spiritual strength that made so many people feel safe.” Linsey said “the hardest thing” about Jordan’s death was watching “my son holding his dad’s hand for the last time.” “In that moment, he didn’t just lose his father,” she explained. “He lost his best friend, his mentor, and the coach who taught him how to love, lead, and believe.” In addition to Cash, Linsey and Jordan shared daughters MJ, 8, Winnie, 4, and Stevie, 2. Linsey announced her husband’s death with an emotional social media post on July 23.  “Today would have been our 15th year anniversary,” she shared alongside a photo of Jordan in the hospital. “We have filled the walls of our homes and hearts with countless memories, joys, struggles, and triumphs. We brought 4 beautiful children into this world that have your eyes, freckles, and compassion. You were our hero and our hearts ache in your absence. We love you. We miss you. And as you said in your last words to me, ‘we’ll talk soon.’ ❤️.” A GoFundMe set up in Jordan’s honor revealed he “took his own life.” The fundraiser has since raised over $178,000.  Jordan, a guard, was on the roster of six NFL teams throughout his career, which spanned from 2013 to 2020.
